Visit the Botanical Garden, and also visit the City Park across Hwy 1 on the bluffs overlooking the Ocean. Also the firshermans village below the bridge was funky and full of places to get a bowl of chowder, or some fish. We stayed on budget and didnt splurge, but there were lots of temptations.

Fort Bragg is a unique place with really kind people, a slower pace to everyday life, no large retail like Costco or Walmart, beautiful (but cold) beaches. There are times when it feels wild with natural beauty, others when it feels like a home away from home. A short 10 minute drive to Mendocino village which is charming and a must do. Sea Pal is a gem for delicious fish and chips in the Noyo harbor. Big River in Mendocino was a great sandy beach for littles without scary waves.

We bought tickets on Tripster for the Skunk Train.

We bought tickets on Tripster for the Skunk Train. There is a 45 minute stop where you can take a mile hike or play cornhole or other games. The train has a great food and snack stand on board as well. Don't miss the miniature train setup after the trip - pull the bell or horn! This is all we had time to do but we could have stayed a week here. Lots to do and see Lifevacs article on 20 serene things to do and see in Ft Bragg. We ate dinner at Cuchina Verona Ristorante and Mercato - we ate in their outdoor area on a Saturday night listening to live music under the patio lights. It was wonderful.

Great restaurants, plenty of beaches, Skunk Train ride, Botanical Gardens, Light House and museums. We had a delicious breakfast at Eggheads on Main Street and a delicious dinner at Mayan Fusion also on Main Street. If you are looking for souvenirs check out ,"It's a Shore Thing". Owners are friendly and very helpful. Easy access to all.

We spent one night on our way to Eureka.

We spent one night on our way to Eureka. Drove from San Francisco. Curvy road through the forest for miles. Didn’t stay long enough to form an opinion of the town. Supper at Taco Bell and breakfast at McDonalds. Did not look for nor locate any fancy restaurants. Wanted to go to Sea Glass Museum but it was closed. Wanted to go to Sea Glass beach but we only saw one sign and no other signs pointing to turn, unless we missed it.

It was wet, cold & windy for sister's bday getaway but we had a blast on the bluff trail, went "thrifting" at local stores & had a fabulous dinner at The Wharf restaurant where the bartender/server made up for the hotel receptionists lack of attention. Found locals to be friendly & helpful. Much more to do in fair weather w/bicycling & ocean activities but we had fun & drive from Willits & on to Mendocino/Ukiah gorgeous!

The location is to die for! Watching the sunset from your balcony can’t be beaten, falling asleep to the sound of the ocean & waking up to that view was just heaven! We stayed in a 2 queen bed suite (upgraded from a standard sea view room) and it had everything we needed & more! The beds were so so comfortable, I wish we hadn’t just been passing through! We will definitely be back again on our next road trip!

Personally we like everything about the omeo, very clean, friendly staff. Excellent rooms for the value very comfortable beds, conveniently located for downtown shopping and dining, once you pull into the hotel there's really no need to drive anywhere because you are within a few blocks from everything or Brad has to offer

Right on the ocean. You hear nothing but the waves. All rooms have an ocean view. Big room, lots of space. Microwave, coffee maker, fridge. Even on ground floor own balcony. Enough parking spaces. From the hotel you can walk into town. Again, almost most of the way along the ocean.

Beautiful balcony overlooking the water, with stunning sunset views. Outside the main town but easy walk to the restaurants by the harbour. Big rooms and good shower, with huge, well lit mirror by the sink. Clean bedding and nice towels.
