    We stayed in Ft.

We stayed in Ft. Lauderdale a few nights before our cruise to St. Thomas , St. John. Also a few days afterwards before flying home to California. I would say Ft. Lauderdale was friendly, beautiful and clean with lunch at Coconuts restaurant on the marina the waterfront was pretty to look at and the marina was very beautiful from the 10th floor of our room at Hotel Maren. I will say it was clean and governed properly. I didn’t see one homeless person in sight or trash or tent city’s which is a far cry for all of our streets, highways and towns in California. It’s very safe and nice shopping 🛍️ easy to get Uber drivers never looked over my shoulder worried about criminal activity when we walked to Senior Frogs for drinks. 🍹

It's a nice place to relax and enjoy sandy beaches, tasty restaurants, fun water adventures, golfing, and explore many different sceneries with palm trees. The bridges and boats were nice to see. If there is one thing we didn't like about Ft. Lauderdale or Florida for that matter is the carelessness idiocracy of drivers, can't seem to ever use turn signals and can't seem to leave their homes on time because they're always driving way over the speed limits. The city also has very condensed parking lots in business areas and charge exceedingly high for parking spaces.

This was a perfect location for me as I traveled alone.

This was a perfect location for me as I traveled alone. I easily walked to beach, restaurants, music, shops, and great Ice Cream places, and always felt safe. There always seemed to be 2 Police Officers somewhere in the area and they were very kind when dealing with people. AND I didn't have to rent a car, which was wonderful. Not needing a car added to the relaxation I was looking for.

Great restaurants but everything was way too expensive!!!!!!!!!!!! You get charged for EVERYTHING!! The cheapest drink we could get was $14! Expensive parking fees everywhere. Food was expensive. Activities were very expensive. We won't be back. We'll go to Key Largo again. I highly recommend The Boatyard restaurant for dinner and Diner By The Sea and Mom's Kitchen for breakfast!! Great food. Traffic was heavy but we expected that and it seemed to move pretty smoothly.

Ft Lauderdale is now often more crowded and busier most of the year. The convention center is expanding and adding 800 more hotel rooms, other hotels are renovating and/or expanding. As with everything in the US, it is becoming more expensive. With the hotel price increases do not expect any renovations or improvements in the property's condition or upkeep.

Best hotel price quality ratio in South Florida. Located at the Beachfront, there are also two swimming pools surrounded by fifty year old Australian pines and many plants. Spacious and comfortable rooms, some with fully equipped kitchens. Excellent breakfast. Family business run by its owners: very kind people, you will feel at home. Close to Sunrise Boulevard (Shopping Mall area) and Las Olas (Nightlife zone). August 2022 was my first time and it won’t be the last!

Good pool facilities. On the beach although you had to pay for chairs etc. Didn't like room. Although it was very large, it was really dark and the lighting was insufficient. No ceiling lighting so you had to turn on the table lamps every time you entered the room. Bathroom old fashioned and small. Cleanliness was okay but certainly not immaculate. The communal areas i.e. the outdoor staircases and passageways were a bit tatty.

This place is a haven in the middle of Fort Lauderdale - close to the beach and mall and surrounded by great little shops and restaurants. The best part about it though are Billy and Lisa who run the hotel / motel. They are SO helpful and made our stay very easy. Nothing is a bother to them. Thank you both!!!
