This is an older hotel but it has a lot of character and nostalgic charm that we enjoyed. Rooms were clean and the bed was good. Our room windows faced Route 66 so it was rather noisy with traffic all night and the air conditioner was rather loud as well. The bathroom had a great shower but the room was so tiny there was no where to put your toiletries. We ate in the restaurant for supper and the burgers and fries were good but nothing remarkable. Galllup for me is just a resting stop.
Galllup for me is just a resting stop. The people are nice but there's really nothing to draw me to come back. We ate at Denny's because it was so close and we were tired and didn't want to drive very far. It seems easy to get around the main area of Gallup. We have been to Gallup in the past and the best part was the Inner-tribal summer celebration and rodeo. Red Rock park is very nice.Guest review byDennisUnited States - 10.0
I'm from New Mexico so I know many places there.
I'm from New Mexico so I know many places there. It already has a wonderful history and the Native Americans are incredible peoples. I would recommend to anyone to take the time, not only get to know Gallup, but to learn about the history of New Mexico in general.Guest review byMorales - 10.0
Gallup is not unlike other western cities.
Gallup is not unlike other western cities. Roads need repair. Signage is not always good so bring your phone for GPS directions. Located in a scenic area very close to the Continental Divide. Be prepared for rapid changes in weather. Its proximity to the Baldera Volcano and Ice Cave and the Navajo seat of government, Window Rock makes it a great place to stop and stay.
