Number 1 on the Superior lake. Amazing view and perfect location . PS thank you for the note inside the sofa. Travelling with the family of three, it’s always a challenge to find the third set of the bedding🙈

Loved waking up and watching Lake Superior from our bed. The room was very cozy and quaint, and my wife loved the rainfall showerhead. We also loved the sauna, perfect for warming up after a day of winter activities!

Had a relaxing stay in cabin 24 with my dog. The one bedroom cabin was great! It was a duplex with a shared wall to another cabin, but I never heard my neighbors. It had all that I needed for a great trip. The kitchenette had a fridge and microwave and was fully stocked with dishes, glasses, silverware, and a drip coffee maker. The living room had a fireplace with plenty of wood, TV, puzzles, and games to keep you entertained. The welcome gift basket was a thoughtful touch with coffee, popcorn, and hot chocolate. The view of the lake from the cabin was beautiful. There was a path from the cabin to a seating area with a firepit to watch the sunset, enjoy a glass of wine or coffee, or just take in the views. They also offer complimentary kayaks, canoes, and SUPs for guests to paddle around the lake. The on-site restaurant had delicious food as well!

Been travelling to GM for over 40yrs.

Been travelling to GM for over 40yrs. Post Covid dining options are OK. Hours of operation are not good for summer. Some places open late and others closed certain times. Then has become too touristy and the vibe has lost its true Northern feel. Even and Oles not open until 4pm. Worlds Best Donuts closed Tue and Wed. Ben Franklin after sister purchased has become generic. Coffee portion of store is a waste. Gunflint Tavern ok. Java Moos Great coffee shop. Bluewater hours odd. My Sister's Place recommend. Shopping is sterile and simple outside of Silversteds Gallery. Voyager Brewing worth the stop. Angry Trout Cafe amazing. I suggest using Grand Marais as base and spend time on Gunflint Trail to Do fay hike Eagle Mountain. Rent boat pontoon jet ski on Devils Track Lake walleye fishing after 5pm is good. Simply drive the dirt roads to enjoy the beauty and shot at seeing moose, bear, coyotes and grouse. Finally bit of drive up but lunch or dinner at Trailside worth the drive. Great food and beverages and Northwoods vibe.

There are good restaurants and lots of shops, museums and just a great place to walk around. You can go up the Gunflint Trail to hike or to many state parks and you are so close to Grand Portage too

The community is surrounded by beautiful scenery. People are friendly. I liked the bookstore, a treasure for a small community. Java Moose had good coffee and breakfast food. I would have liked more choices for restaurants. I can't deal with any more fried walleye in MN.
