Hotel in Iowa City
Conveniently located on the campus of the University of Iowa, this hotel is 5 minutes from Carver Hawkeye Arena. The hotel features a restaurant and rooms with a 37-inch flat-screen HDTV. What is there not to like about this hotel? Incredibly clean, very cool styling, really friendly staff and a great location! Whoever came up with the idea for this hotel was bang on! And it was such incredible value for money!! The shower was to die for - there is nothing worse than a rubbish shower in your hotel room - but this was top notch. Yes the decor COULD be seen as a little loud - we were on the sports floor - but, the detail to the decoration of each room is superb! The beds were huge and very comfortable and there is complimentary tea and coffee - not your usual cheap stuff either. Iowa City is now fondly remembered for me and it’s down to this hotel. If you are visiting Iowa City and want a central hotel which is in walking distance of great restaurants - this is the place to stay.

The hotels should not be allowed to determine the length of your stay and price gouge you for lodging during a home Iowa football week-end. SHAME ON YOU for allowing this practice to go on and I will NEVER attend another Iowa Football game again. I will also never stay in Iowa City again, no matte what, and give you the opportunity to fleece me of my hard earned money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are money grubers!!!!!!!!!!!
Iowa City is a great town. Have spent several weekends there preparing to drop our daughter off at the University of Iowa. Great downtown with many good restaurants, shops and bars. Beautiful greenery throughout. The people are very welcoming! Would recommend a visit the Iowa City!
Things have changed so much since the last time I was there. Something is always new and there are always new places to try. Ped Mall construction right now (7/22/19) is kind of a bummer, but soon its going to be a very nice space. Easy to get around the city and always a fun time to visit.
The College Town atmosphere is simply outstanding; being able to travel just three miles and have everything you need at your fingertips is truly worth the stay. My stay was work related with the University of Iowa Baseball Program; the convenience of travel was tremendous, along with all the many sites and historical settings was very noteworthy.
Food was delicious! Mosley’s BBQ! 525 S Gilbert S., Iowa City! Outstanding! Guild Wurst Tavern for unbelievable Brats, in adjacent Coralville, IA, 53 2nd St. near the Iowa River! Dairy Queen on the Iowa River accessing bike and walking path just south of U of I.
Staff was friendly but gave bad directions to walk to the Chop House. Room was less than good, cement dirty floors, rug in bathroom tripped me twice, gross stains on bathroom floor, kitchen has plates and a coffee cup but no silverware, Bed was comfy view was not good faced a large cement wall with graffiti on it. Bar-restaurant less than great. Lack of coffee in the lounge in the morning was not acceptable since the coffee maker in the room spit and spattered when it made the coffee and the coffee pod was not the correct size. Cluster of garbage cans w/o bags in them in the room and one very small one under the sink. Dust clusters were gathered along the walls.
