Stayed at La Concha Hotel and my credit card was charged 2 nights although I only stayed one. I left the 29th instead of the 30th and requested a receipt on departure which first was denied and when finally printed it showed my initial reservation days, not my actual departure date. I had intended to stay 2 nights and stayed only one. On check in, I was given a room facing a wall, and when changed to another after 24 hours, we set the temperature down because the room was warm, left, and a couple of hours later the room was still warm. Decided not to stay and was still charged for the extra night and even an extra parking day. Besides the hotel bad experience, Key West was great as usual. The first 3 photos below are the La Concha Hotel and my room view of a wall. The rest are views of the beach and of one beautiful hotel where I should have stayed (Southermost)
Loved the beach and amenities at the State Park; Chairs and umbrella rental were kind of pricey. Loved the food in the restaurants but needed to make a reservation 2 weeks ahead to get a seat at dinner time at the top 10 rated restaurants; lodging was pricey for a night's stay; loved all the shops and variety; brew pubs have some growing to do (need stout, belgian, and porter options). Our room was great, comfortable, loved the small pool and the surrounding property, tenants weren't too noisy, just a little drunk. Great places for breakfast (coffee) at 7:00am. Transportation was great. Will definitely spend more time next time.
The place is real! Great old lodgings available along with modern hotels. Good seafood everywhere and a great waterfront and harbor---a lot of relaxed, informal spots to enjoy. Plenty of things to see and do. We came in on the wonderful high-speed ferry from Ft. Myers and left in a rental car. No real need for a car to enjoy the whole scene. The roosters all around the island make the sun come up every morning!
The best part of our trip to Key West was watching the sunset. It was truly a beautiful sight. Caroline's Cafe on Duval Street had amazing food at even more amazing prices. Loved the old time feel of the island...and all the roosters walking around the street! Truman Hotel was a very nice place to stay, costing less than the average hotel in the area. Parking is at a premium. Prepare to walk a lot. Bike rentals are available all over Key West, but the traffic situation made us leery about renting them with kids. Scooters, electric cars, and golf carts are also available but we were told that the parking rules apply for those modes of transportation just like a car. Considering finding a parking spot could be difficult, we felt it was not worth paying for the rental and have to pay for parking on top of it - which is $2.00 an hour in most places. Trolley rides are also available for around $26 a person. The nightlife on Duval Street is like nothing I have ever seen before. Lots of talent to listen to and watch.
Hotel accomodations were quite nice. This was our second visit to Key West, we took a chance booking our hotel. We were extremely pleased; the location could not have been better. The fact that the weather was on the cool side, the crowds were lighter, which was a plus. The only downside would have been the restaurant at the hotel could have had more selections on their menu.
Key West is, in it's natural state, a wonderful place to visit in late fall and winter. Never-ever visit during the summer months due to the excess heat and humidity, which is quite an unbelievable statement ladies and gentlemen-primarily because I'm from southern LOUISIANA! ('Nuff said?) There are a number of great restaurants and a few great bars left, but I'm afraid this lovely island filled with butterflies and banyan trees has begun to suffer from the great decline of the middle class in the USA. Accommodations are either 5 star top-notch or leave quite a bit to be desired-so if you've never been and would like to see and feel the charm of Old Key West go soon or invest heavily in the lottery because the one-percenter's are rapidly squeezing the wonder out of the place. Having been to Key West 12-15 times in the last 18 years I adore the island as it was and hate to see it go the way of hotel prices in Manhattan.

My bed was perfect! Had great 4 nights of sleep. They have personal lights and outlets in each bed. Room was clean, spacious and very well taken care of. I could smell the softener on the sheets. AC working fine, which is necessary in Key West. The locker key is the same card you open the door - very handy! 4 blocks from Duval St and 2 blocks from the west coast. The pools are great to chill out in the end of the day. Price wasn’t cheap, but the bets I could find for a good place. Would definitely stay again.

Westwinds is a lovely hotel in old town Key West. The rooms are large and comfortable and all gathered around the two pools in beautiful gardens. The staff are welcoming and attentive. You couldn't wish for a better location, Eaton Street is near enough to the main sights and attractions, but just away enough to be quiet. The surrounding area is full of old style Florida properties, white picket fence, verandahs with rocking chairs or swings and all painted in white or pastels. Fantastic.

We arrived early at key west and We were able to check in early around 2pm. The front desk staff was so friendly and very informative. We reserved a patio ocean view room with king bed and it was very clean and comfortable. The shower alone was amazing. The hotel offers free shuttle to downtown key west. This was one of our personal favorite services that the hotel offered. We stayed for one night and would recommend to come back.

Very central position in an old, historic property. Walking distance from the beach and all the main attractions. Very clean and well equipped, with Air-conditioning, loads of colourful towels, parking (useful in Key West!) and a pool. We had a two-room suite, with a kitchen area, (with coffee machine), which was like an apartment within the hotel. Lovely balcony with rocking chairs, Southern style. Helpful staff.

Giving a 10 generally means that you are exaggerating, but not in this case. Wonderful hotel, the best - I mean absolutely perfect - location for a trip to key west. Enjoy the breath taking sunset from the sunset deck of the hotel after a lovely day of exploring the island and/or relaxing at the pool. Just great (although next time I would book a room with a king bed myself - that was my bad).

It was cheap compared to all the other overpriced hotels in old Town. But you don't get much for your money in key west. The only thing cheap is the beer.
