Located in Lava Hot Springs in the Idaho region, Walk to Lava Hot Springs Pools from Cozy Cabin! has a garden. very cute place to stay. comfortable. plenty of room for families
I love the hot springs. There were no paper towels, or hand towels in any of the common use restrooms. One of my pillow cases had a head impression on it, it was not laundered. The toilet paper holder in the women's restroom as broken, no toilet paper. I didn't eat the free breakfast, the sanitation was too questionable.
Lava Hot Springs is much busier than it was the last time we stayed there, it is no longer a "hidden" gem of Idaho. The hot pools never disappoint and for as busy as it was (apparently slowing down from their busy season!) the locals that work there take it all in stride and were friendly at ever restaurant and venue we went to. Like everywhere most places were understaffed and EXTREMELY busy, as long as you are patient and kind to the wait staff they are kind and helpful back. It is a great weekend getaway.
We floated the river, tried out the hotsprings, and stayed at bristol cabins. Those were all great. There was a ton of people there though. Definitely a tourist location. Was a little difficult to get around in a car but everything was within walking distance. We ate at the pizza place and at the lava waffle. Both were great.
It was a horrible place we drove over 3 hours soaked and drove home over 3 hours. They take advantage of people. We have video and many pictures to prove our point. 148.45 is what we were charged I want a refund.
Loved it, I took these pictures at Lava Inn, I love that place, I take pictures of there flowers every time I’m there. I want to stay there over Christmas Eve and Christmas. I did another review yesterday but couldn’t add pictures but today I can. Heidi Williams
Lava is a great vacation spot for a long weekend. We've found 3 days to be about perfect- any longer and you run out of things to do. The main attractions are water-based (the Olympic pool, the hot pools, and floating the river). It's usually pretty busy on the weekends, but there's always enough room for everyone. The one thing that is tricky is meal times- the whole town wants to eat at once, so the 5-6 restaurants get impossibly busy. We usually take our own meals and stay in a suite with a kitchen so we can cook there instead. It is a River, Roads, and Rails town, so if those noises bother you, bring some ear plugs. Other recommended activities: Go Karts, Baker Ranch, Chesterfield, and wandering in shop. Favorite restaurants: 78th and Main, Lava Waffle, Baker Ranch, and Royal Pizza Best Ages: 3-103. It's tough to do much with little ones. Those with physical limitations should avoid the river. Accessibility: pretty good. The pool is very accessible. The river would be less so. The stairs to get out of the river are VERY steep and slippery. Lots of the buildings are older or have stairs to get in, which could present a problem.
The location of the Alpaca Inn was fantastic. It was off the main beat and very quiet. Very close to restaurants, the grocery store and the hot tubs at the Lava Hot Springs Inn. Opted not to go to the public hot springs as there were to many people and we would have had to drive to it. The staff was very nice and helped out with all are needs.
Lava Hot Springs
I liked that the hotel was easy to find and parking was easy. The staff was kind and accommodating. There were plenty of amenities available in the room- extra towels, blankets, dishes, etc. It's in the center of town, so everything is very walkable. It was very quiet, except for the occasional pedestrian outside.

Lava Hot Springs
All the staff are super friendly. The hotel is beautiful considering the age and history. But it would be nice to see a little more pride go into the quality of repairs and restoration. One step at a time. It's still a lovely place that we will return to.
