The best hotel on our long road trip was the last one - the Surfland Hotel! We arrived quite late, were welcomed by very friendly and helpful staff. All rooms have a beautiful ocean view. Beds were really comfy, rooms spacious and clean. Great direct beach access! Really good value, beat much more expensive hotels on our trip Access to pool with sauna and hot tub included. Great breakfast with cold and warm meals. The hotel also offers some nice additional serviced (free ice water and cookies, local craft beer and wine at fair prices etc) We loved it!

I spent a night on my way to a conference along with my research partner We l-o-v-e-d our stay The room was great, spacious with comfortable beds. It was definitely noted that they thought of everything from cup to extra blankets The s'more kit was great we enjoyed making them The sit facilities were great from laundry, to fire pits, a sandbox for kids to a play room I highly recommend it to solo travelers as well as families!!!

My husband and I loved this hotel. We decided to splurge on a room with a hottub and a balcony facing the ocean. After a long, beautiful walk in the beach right in front of the hotel we came back to a good soak in the tub, sat on the balcony to watch the sun go down and then slept very well in the very comfortable bed.

Traffic is horrid and drivers are as rude as the largest city in Oregon. Known for its cassino, Chinook Winds has dropped its buffet, changed betting rules to favor profit over entertainment and less staff. Personally, I won't be back.

Lincoln City is a small town on the beautiful Oregon cost with great beaches! The town itself is a bit shabby or rustic looking in some places, but very safe. The restaurants are mostly pubs of varying degrees of sophistication, as well as some fine dining available in town. Lots of antique shops, a couple of good bookstores and a great Recreation Center-Gym to get in some exercise. Lots of trails to hike too!

L.C. is an honest, working-class beach town.

L.C. is an honest, working-class beach town. Not a lot of gloss, just straight up good, unpretentious folk who've mostly been living here for a good long while, and know who they are. There are a few upper-end restaurants tucked around the corners (and they're worth it). Most places, though, you'll feel perfectly comfortable in your t-shirt, sweats and flip flops, and nobody's going to care if you haven't shaved in a couple of days, because they know you've been working as hard as they have, and now you're here to relax and let your hair down a bit. They get it.

We were surprised how few Seafood places there were on the coast. Mo's was a highlight. We visited Mo's twice and both times the food was great! Most of the restaurants were Mexican or Chinese. Many of the fast-food places were old or dirty. Really enjoyed watching the glass blowers and visiting Connie Hanson Flower Garden!

Remember to bring napkins or paper towels and some floats for the pool if you're bringing kids along. The outdoor pool is wonderfully warm, even when the air feels quite chilly. I really enjoyed swimming there! They also have lovely, soft robes to wear to and from the pool, which adds to the comfort. If you're planning your stay, I highly recommend adding breakfast—it's absolutely delicious and a great way to start the day!

I've always loved this town.

I've always loved this town. Lots of events and good restaurants with lots nearby things to do. The only negative thing you have to deal with is the traffic but not really a way to change that. Just be aware.

The hotel was dirty, the website said that the rooms were air conditioned. They were not. There was a ceil8ng fan but the remote was missing and there were no manual controls. Paint was missing on the walls from being worn off. The room air was smelly and stagnant. We ended up leaving and staying at another hotel. No refund, even though the amenities were mistated and we were not getting what we paid for.

The unit had a rat. After a Stern conversation with assistant manager, we were booked and his sister hotel for one night. We were told we would have to find another place, even though we had booked two nights at the D Sands.
