My family of 5 loved our stay in the family suite at The Garland. We really enjoyed the movies by the pool and poolside meals. We used the shuttle to get to Universal Studios. The hotel and the grounds have such a cool vibe and are very well maintained. Great experience all around!

Wonderful staff. Really gracious & always happy to help. I loved the cool vibe - the courtyard had gorgeous landscaping and great ambience. It felt like old Hollywood but not at all tacky. Very cool. Nicely designed rooms, edgy tasteful.

FAQs about hotels in Los Angeles

City of Angels

Exploring Los Angeles, the place where movies are made, you feel like you’re in a dream. Santa Monica Pier is the end point of the fabled Route 66, while just south is bohemian Venice Beach, lined by tall, swaying palms. Go slightly inland from the boardwalk to catch a glimpse of the canals that earned the area its name.

Head north to the golden beach and stunning scenery of Malibu and see why movie stars over the decades have settled here. Also popular with the rich and famous are Bel Air and Beverly Hills, home to exclusive Rodeo Drive.

And the reason for all this glitz and glamour? Hollywood, of course! Sitting high on a hill, the iconic sign is visible for miles around, while below the gold stars on Hollywood Boulevard immortalize celebrities of past and present.  Be there on premiere night to see them grace the red carpet of Grauman’s Chinese Theater.

Over the hill is Universal Studios, with behind-the-scenes tours as well as rides. Next door are the Warner Brothers Studios, and Paramount Studios are closer to Downtown LA.

Whether you decide to live like a star in a luxury LA hotel or choose a cheap motel through Booking.com, it’s worth renting a car to get around this sprawling city and out to Los Angeles Airport (LAX).

    California is amazing!

California is amazing! So much to do and explore you couldn’t possibly get bored! It’s a very beautiful place. You get the ocean, beaches, beautiful sunsets, piers, mountains rains, snow , lots of exercise lol the landscaping and the Spanish style homes and the way it’s all nestled tightly in the sides of mountains where everywhere there’s a view. California is beautiful and the and that makes the traffic worth it!! California just got it right!! But why wouldn’t they???!! Hmmmm

I've been to LA several times -- it is a city with many, many neighborhoods and experiences -- the beach at Santa Monica, Pasadena, driving down palm tree-lined streets, great and unusual museums, Hollywood, unique and fun architecture, great fusion food. Everytime I go I find something fun and exciting to experience.

Los Angeles is a wonderful place to visit, especially in the Fall through Spring (Oct-March), but much like the postcards you find at gift shops on Hollywood Boulevard, the view is not always as picture-perfect in between those iconic shots. L.A., in particular, has its contrasting images. The filth, graffiti, and rundown properties are not so well hidden from sight. Los Angeles does a better job than most cities at showcasing its glitz and glamour, so be prepared to see less of one and more of the other. It's in those spaces between where much of L.A.'s magic can be discovered with its people, places, and things to do.

Thus far, getting in/out of LAX has been worse than any airport. Waiting for car rental shuttle, waiting for car rental, getting out of LAX. Hit-n-Miss hotel accommodations. Public transportation seems to be adequate, perhaps this is the way to get around. We'll provide update on our next trip.

    L.A. is always fun.

L.A. is always fun. The allure is still bright for this seasoned traveller. But I do not travel as much there as I used to. Some parts of Hollywood are pleasant, relatively safe. The culture is a window to the world. You can see, have anything from the globe in L.A.! Since I take public transport I am glad to see more security presence. Metro has definitely upped their game. Oh, The Pantry is re-opening soon! We may be losing Langer's Deli. Go grab a corned beef sandwich while you can!! Have you seen Shohei Ohtani play in person yet? You must see this once in a lifetime athlete in action!

Los Angeles is an exciting place full of interesting landmarks, although I found it a bit ran down. Central Los Angeles is full of homeless people and dirty streets, which made me sad. Other than that it's a multicultural city with a fascinating history. I wouldn't recommend visiting in the summer, though: heat and humidity are unbearable; there are repairs and diversions on the bus routes and public services seem to work slower. All in all, I enjoyed my stay, I would definitely come back. Also, people are super friendly and it feels safe.

This hotel has advantages: it is in the touristic part of the city, near the Walk of Fame; it has free parking which is very helpful for tourists traveling around California by car especially in the Los Angeles area; the rooms are clean, they have a fridge. For the price, location, and free parking it is a wonderful option. Next time I will definitely stay with them again if I am in Hollywood traveling by car

We stayed at this hotel in Los Angeles for a week and overall had a great time. The room was very nice and comfortable, and we especially enjoyed the heated rooftop swimming pool. The surrounding area is quiet and residential, with a safe and pleasant atmosphere, even at night. There are some great bars and shops within walking distance.

it was cheap and not far away from the airport. I'd like to give a 10/10 to the staff: there was a guy at the reception, when I arrived late at night, who was really nice and polite. Room and bathroom were clean. There is a shuttle bus to the airport (walking distance: 10 min) in the rental car parking lot in front of the hotel.

The good: if you're driving, the location is nice. The area feels very safe, the houses around are nice, and it's not far to get into West Hollywood. The house was pretty nice at one point in the past, and this is probably the cheapest chance you'll get to stay in the hills.(around 200USD per night)

You would only stay here for universal and it’s a short walk away, so that’s good. I think the extra charges for parking are too much considering the hotel is not cheap. It was clean, that’s all we needed. The area around the hotel is not nice and I wouldn’t walk around there if I had kids with me.
