The room was beautiful and very spacious. Plenty of drawer and cabinet space for those looking for a long stay. The fridge also had a freezer compartment and came with a microwave. The pillows were super soft and the bed was one of the more comfortable hotel beds I've slept on. I always dread hotels because the beds just aren't home but I didn't feel that way here. My son also loved the pull out bed on the couch and basically having his own room. The couch is in a separate room from the queen and king bed portion. Because breakfast isn't served anymore we got buy one get one free coupons that saved us $20 on breakfast. The water park was also amazing.

Mackinaw City is expensive, but has some great places.

Mackinaw City is expensive, but has some great places. The shopping area downtown is very interesting. The park next to the bridge is beautiful (except for goose poop). We didn't visit the fort this time, but it is very interesting. If you stay at a place with shuttle service to the ferry, you don't have to pay for parking. Some hotels have discount coupons to the ferry. Getting around is easy. Most things are within walking distance. Mackinac Island is expensive if you shop there, but to walk around has beautiful scenery. You can rent bikes and travel 8 miles around the island, or take a horse taxi. Arch Rock is interesting.

My family and I haven't been to Mackinaw City in over 20 years. We were so happy to be able to get back there. It's a cute little city with plenty of restaurants, shopping and things for kids to do. It's also very dog friendly! There's plenty of parking and it also has a nice public bathroom area. You won't be disappointed, there's something for everyone to enjoy!

Mackinaw will always be my happy place. I do like going during off season times because way less people. Waiting in line at restaurants was a drag but expected. The Crossings need some new shops. I didn't know they were going to do fireworks so that was a nice surprise.

We Booked out tickets at Waterfront Inn for cabins with a perfect beach view and all the appliances in the cabin. Upon arrival there was no such cabin for us and they gave us an old style room with dim lights and water in the bathroom tub was all clogged! Just cuz we booked cabins we prepared a lot of raw marinated food to go and enjoy there but it was ruined ! They provided tiny refrigerators only! No microwave at all! The swimming pool look like it was not cleaned for decades! GROSS! The beach on the back of the building was full of flies and bugs! Don’t waste your money and trip!

Love the beaches and the shops.

Love the beaches and the shops. Watched the bridge light up every night.Watched the ferries and freighters. The shops were fun. Ate at Darrows and Dairy Queen. Sat by the fountain in Mackinaw Crossings. Loved all the beautiful flowers there and around town. Favorite spots were the beaches and the park by the bridge.

We visited the fort at the base of the bridge - this is a must see, particularly for those who enjoy history. A short ferry ride will take you to Mackinac Island for the day. There you can wander around the shops or take a bike ride around the island. We chose to take a long walk around the island - 8.1 miles. It was absolutely beautiful! There is also a fort on the island - that one is ok, but the one under the bridge in Mackinaw City is better (just my opinion). Lots of shops to wander in and out of in Mackinaw City as well.

The staff was wonderful, very friendly and kind. The hotel was very clean. And they also told me the best places to eat, and what boat will get me to the island faster. I had my children with me and they were very friendly and super cool with my daughters. They also went above and beyond because I forgot a picture at the hotel, and they were so awesome that they mailed it to my house which that’s a five star in my book.
