The Quality Inn Yosemite Valley Gateway hotel in Mariposa, CA is located near the junction of California's famous Highway 49, known as California's Golden Chain, and State Route 140, the all-year... Jesse from the front desk helped us out and she was very helpful and super friendly.

Set in Mariposa in the California Region, 78.2 km from Yosemite Village, Sierra Trails Inn features a terrace and views of the mountains. Enjoy a cup of tea from your balcony or patio. Breakfast was made by the owner as a take away bag if you were leaving early in the morning. Sweetest couple runs this b&b in a gorgeous setting. We were sad that we only had one day here. Free water and beer exchange in the common fridge. Thumbs up! The house and room was new and felt crisp and nice. A little too many pillows on the bed ;)
The Yosemite Plaisance Bed and Breakfast serves a gourmet breakfast and afternoon snacks daily. It offers rooms with free WiFi. Yosemite National Park is 52.2 km away. Advice on getting around Yosemite was spot on. Great breakfast and great post hike snacks too.

Nestled on a hillside in a forest, this mountain resort features an on-site restaurant and a spa. Yosemite Valley is 43 km away. I liked everything about this place! We stayed 2 nights. Food was great, staff were really helpful, bathrooms were always clean and showers were good. Couldn't have asked for more!
Adjacent to Yosemite Area Rapid Transit Service (YARTS) and 30 minutes’ drive from Yosemite National Park entrance, this lodge offers BBQ facilities. The room was cosy and full of character. Kitchenette with some equipment, fridge and microwave. High quality towels in the bathroom, with bath. Very friendly and relaxed manager with a wicked sense of humour. Great to sit on the porch with a beer at the end of a sight seeing day and watch deer, hummingbirds and other wildlife. YARTS bus stopped at the end of the lane if you needed it.
Love the place. Good position to get to Yosemite if you can’t get into the Park. Has plenty of restaurants, bars etc, some of the nearer hotels to Yosemite tend to be away from facilities. Other activities here including gold panning
Great staging area for Yosemite. The local store had good supplies, O'Reilly's Autos had snow cables at a decent price. The Grove House has great beer and the owner there has great advice for Yosemite Valley spots. Some good food available too!
A great place to stay if you want a cheaper option than accommodation in Yosemite Valley. The bus goes through town, with 3 stops on its way to Yosemite and returns in the afternoon. A pleasant town with friendly people.
Best gateway town for Yosemite. Charming. Good choice of restaurants. Don't miss Sugar Pine Diner for great breakfasts and Charles St Dinner house for creamy chowder, tender ribs and served with charm. Love the place.
We loved the museum, very helpful staff and it gave us an incredible insight into the history of the gold rush and beyond, including personal stories that had been preserved for future generations,an incredible collection of artefacts, one of the best museums of its kind we have seen, well documented. As visitors from England we were particularly fascinated by the history portrayed in this museum. We were recommended the Charles street Diner for a meal on the first night,we were not disappointed ,it was an amazing meal(a little pricy) but worth it for the cuisine ,especially the peanut butter brûlée (a-amazing)and the staff were friendly!!
We absolutely loved Mariposa. Very authentic golf rush town. Great museum to find out about the history of the town. Two really good restaurants, one at either end of the town. So glad we chose to stay here as a near Yosemite location.

Mariposa is an interesting town born out of the gold rush. It has many good dining and shopping options as well as many places to visit, not to mention the friendly locals. If you don't mind driving (we consider it an integral part of our holidays) the routes to Yosemite and other places are more than rewarding. All of this means the hotel is in an excellent location. The included breakfast is plentiful but very basic and the cooked options are poor.

Overall we are happy. We really like the fresh fruits provided everyday. The energy bars are also a good grab-n-go choice for hikers. It’s nice that the Inn provided free WiFi connection since our phones have no service around the area. The host is really knowledgeable about the area and gave a lot of good tips. The Inn is not too far from Yosemite entrance (1.5 hr) and enjoys the convenience of being close to Mariposa.

Very helpful staff on check-in who lent their own basketball to our son so he could shit some hoops at the hotel's basketball hoop. Parking was easy. Breakfast was fairly decent with egg and sausage, English muffins and other baked goods. Our kids loved the make your own waffles. Good location near Yosemite Park and close to some excellent eateries.

Super well maintained everything, each room has a balcony, very nice bathroom, great breakfeast, very friendly owners. For dinner you will need to drive to Mariposa or to the more basic but very worth while and much more close by little diner at the local gas station

The stuff is great. Around Yosemite, Mariposa probably offers the best food options. The pool is small but nice. Although after 15-minute drive you can get to a nice spot on Merced River, having a pool near by on hot days is a luxury. Plenty of parking

The main reason to choose this was the location. Everything around the park is crazily expensive and this was a more reasonable option. It's basic but served our purpose: a bed near the park. The owner was attentive.

In fact it’s quite near Yosemite and Mariposa town by car, house feels very nice, Forest retreat room is huge and cozy. amazing breakfast with plenty fruits.

Not as close to Yosemite as advertised due to road conditions and traffic patterns. If you're going to stay in Mariposa there are much nicer places.
