Off season is the best value time to visit plus fewer crowds at Arches National Park and in town...be prepared in Off Season, however, for most any kind of weather...bring layered clothing and decent hiking boots, shoes, and even boots for wet/muddy hiking.
Moab is stunning. "little" town in a red rock valley. We really enjoyed our trip to Moab in the off season (early Feb). We were able to go hiking in Arches, Canyonland, and Grandstaff Canyon with minimal other tourists around. There are loads, I mean loads, of motels and campgrounds so I imagine Moab must be crazy in the Spring and Summer. I wouldn't want to be in Moab then. FYI you can't hike with your dog in Arches and Canyonland. We used Moab Veterinary Doggy Daycare for $23 a day, and were very pleased with their service. There is also a dog park behind the City Market and it has a separate small dog area.
Have been to Moab several times but I am really dissapointed with their over marketing, which is bringing in way too many tourist. The over crowding and heavy traffic is destroying places like Moab and Sedona, AZ.
Moab was amazing. So many great hiking trails and some awesome National Parks. Loved Island in the Sky and of course Arches National Park. Need to go back and explore more. Downtown restaurants were great. Highly recommend Spoke.
Moab is a great location to tour Arches National Park, Canyonlands National Parks, 3 Scenic Byways, Dinosaur footprints and Dinosaur bones. Also The Blue Pig restaurant had good food. The Diner has great breakfasts and great shakes.
Moab has become quite busy these days. Staying on or near the Main Street and then walking to wherever you want to go eat/drink is your best bet. The Moab brewery has delicious beer and food. Eddie McStiffs is also delicious with a great Utah beer selection on tap. The Castle Creek winery is a fun visit. Their wine is good, view is to die for, and getting there is a pretty drive up the Colorado river. They also have a free museum featuring the movies that have been filmed in and around Moab that’s worth checking out. Hole In The Rock is a must see. It’s $6 for the tour (don’t forget to bring cash to tip your tour guide) and the grounds have a couple of shops and fun picture opportunities.
The best stay in Moab for our group of 5! A perfectly located, spacious, beautiful and clean house. 3 bedrooms, plus a couch bed in the living room which comes very handy for a group of friends. Two bathrooms, one of them attached to the master bedroom. In the kitchen you find everything you need and more! Private parking. The house lies within a walking distance to the center of town (10 minutes) and just several minutes by car to the entrance of the Arches NP. Highly recommend!

Upon arriving the hotel looked disappointing. Don’t let this put you off. The halls are a bit dated but the room was very nice and above all VERY clean. The breakfast is as good as any breakfast restaurant in the USA ( e.g. Denny’s or IHOP) and certainly better than most hotels. It’s a buffet with everything from cereals to eggs and pancakes. It’s got a nice pool area. The grounds are well kept and look great. It is best value for money in Moab.

Pet friendly. Staff is friendly. Close to many restaurants, shops, a very nice off leash dog park and an on-site restaurant 'Moab Grill' (closed Tuesdays). The room was nice with 2 queen beds. Everything is made out of pine and gives a quaint and cozy lodge feeling. There is a coffee machine, a refrigerator and a flat screen smart TV.

Nice check in, they were prepared already. They explained everything nicely. Hot-tub / spa is nice. it is adult only use between 9-10 pm so kids were not disturbing us, they made sure that this rule is kept. Nice and comfortable beds. The campground is clear and you can see that they spend a lot of effort to maintain it and keep it clean and tidy.
