Montpelier is a great place to stay for the weary.. The staff were very accommodating and full of knowledge about the surrounding area.. The room was very clean and comfortable.. Their having some problems with their TV system but that should be rectified soon.. Breakfast was great looking forward to staying there again sometime soon..
We travel to Montpelier to visit family, mostly in the late summer. the green mountains and quaint New England vibe mixed with the local college scene is always pleasing to the eye and comforting to the soul. In the autumn you can see the leaves changing color as they grow up the mountain. Everyone is friendly and smiling in town.
We were in VT to visit the Barre quarry, VT Granite Museum, and to see Hope Cemetery. This made a beautiful place to stay and be close to those sites. If we had more time, we wold have visited historical places in and around Montpelier.
Montpelier has many interesting and quirky shops. My visit to the Vermont Historical Society Museum was very informative and enjoyable. It was also very hands on and kid-friendly. The Saturday Farmer's Market was excellent. The 4-H club brought two heifers - June and Fancy!
Depending on traffic, just a few minutes drive to different attractions. Walmart and Berlin mall right across the road. Right down the street, to just about anything you fancy eating. Morse sugar House is 10 mins away for great creamees. 3 laundry mats within 2 miles.if you like ole school dinners, wayside in Montpellier is good and recommend the green mtn breakfast
We’ve been there many times since we have family there. It’s so beautiful, especially Summer and Fall. It’s definitely a walkable downtown from The Inn at Montpelier and from our son’s home. The Winooski River runs thru part of town which adds to the charm. Neci restaurant was very good.
