We were there for a concert at the university so we didn't have much time to spend in the area. However we found the downtown to be charming. There are many small shops and restaurants. Seemed to be adequate places to eat convenient to the area.
It was a nice place could have had a little better way of getting in and out for hanicap but we were ok they need a larger breakfast room we were never able to get in it and sit down to eat and breakfast. But we had friends we visited there and it was so easy to get around to their place and the places to eat was great a lot of them with a great verity.
New Philadelphia is a friendly small town that has lots to offer visitors from commercial businesses and a performing arts center to historic Schoenbrun Village to it's gem Tuscora Park there is something for everyone. It is situated 20 miles south of Canton and less than 80 miles from Cleveland. Amish country is nearby. It's quaint yet modern enough to offer something for everyone regardless of your interests. Columbus, Pittsburgh and West Virginia are all within driving distance.
Great location. Clean and comfortable. Friendly and helpful front desk. Breakfast was ordinary, but good and hot and well supplied. Coffee was great. Stayed five nights and drove around Amash countryside which was beautiful. Various food places were good and reasonable. Historical places were great and educational.
Getting around in New Philadelphia was quite easy. Streets were well labeled with easy to read signage. We basically ate fast food because we were on a short trip with family for a funeral, so nearly all of our time was with them.
We were there for a trip to Amish country. We will book closer next time but New Philadelphia has some nice little things to offer. It has the only Walmart near the Amish area. The local dining was good. We went to a BBQ place called Hog Heaven. The food and service was good. There was a Harley Davidson shop near by. It's not a bad little town. I just wish it had been closer to our destination.
“We love the high ceilings in the rooms. The room was incredible! Totally exceeded our expectations. The bathroom was huge and it was more like like staying in an apartment than being in a hotel room.”
“The whole facility was very clean. Proof that pet friendly hotels are NOT always dirty places. The room was modern and spacious with a nice coffee maker, fridge and microwave. I liked having both an office chair and a comfy chair, rather than just the beds to sit on.”
“The hotel is within walking distance of the Starbucks which made me happy. The room was clean and comfortable and the staff was friendly.”
“Everyone was friendly and there was a crib with a baby blanket ready in The room. Even though the hotel is right off the highway, there isn't hwy noise. Plenty of restaurants and stores within walking distance”
“The cleanliness of the whole hotel.”
“Convenient location, great value”
