A lot to do in NY. Best method of transportation are inexpensive trains once you figure out how the trains run because Ubers/taxis are at an outrageous price...too expensive even for short rides and time of day.

My kids wanted to experience snow, proper snow and they were disappointed that it got to snow 2 weeks after we left but this was beyond anyone's control. New York is always beautiful except it was just unbearably cold. That was the whole essence in any case, to experience snow but it is just too cold. But I would visit New York every year if I could

Absolutely loved NYC, but very expensive.
Absolutely loved NYC, but very expensive. Brutal exchange rate for the NZD to the USD. Load up a Travelex card when your exchange rate is up.
Definitely look into City pass options if you can for tickets to Galleries and museums if that's what you are into.
Book well ahead for accommodation to get a good deal. I didn't realize how lucky I was with our discounted stay, and breakfast included. (Its not 5 star dining, but perfectly adequate, covering the bases)
American coffee is bland and tasteless. (what can I say, I'm a coffee snob)
Great people in this city, don't believe the stereotype about New Yorkers.
So much to do, so little time. Sad to go.

Our week in New York City was nothing short of spectacular!
From iconic landmarks to delicious culinary adventures, each day was filled with new experiences and cherished memories. The bustling streets of Manhattan and the serene beauty of Central Park under the snow provided the perfect backdrop for our explorations, while Broadway shows and museum visits delighted both young and old alike.
Definitely a great birthday experience for my daughter that turned 16 that week.

If you use the subway correctly, then you can fit a lot in, in 3 days!!
If you go to a show in Broadway! the drinks are expensive !!! I am talking about $35 for a wine!! I am serious! They will rob you dry in the theatre !! The photo I attached was when I went to "Back to the future" !!

Cycling around Central Park, the Edge, walking the streets of Ny, visiting the Irish pubs. The negative to NY is the smell of cannabis everyone you go. Every second shop is a head shop selling weed. The small is repulsive. So off putting.
We stayed for 8 nights and overall really liked it. We have been to New York a couple of times and while the location is not the nicest (not dangerous, just touristy) it is the best for getting around Manhattan and beyond. We liked being able to walk to Hells Kitchen for food/drinks and plenty of other areas nearby and when we went further there were several subway options. We thought the bed and pillows were super comfortable and we never had to wait for a lift which is definitely a bonus when we looked at other hotels.
Location is perfect. It is 30 meters (100ft) to 7th avenue, 7-8 minutes walk to Empire State and 13-14 minutes walk to Times Square. Being close to lower Manhattan, we had the chance to walk to Greenwich and Soho also, which has great cafes and restaurants. Compared to other hotels, i would say Courtyard Marriott has also a good value for money, as prices in eastern were crazy. Rooms are satisfactory, comfortably, and clean. I would definitely choose this hotel as an option in my future NY travels.
This hotel was in an excellent location in the financial district of Manhattan.
Close to subway lines so you can go anywhere once you become used to the New York subway system.
Hotel is close to Battery Park and also the Staten Island ferry.
More respectfully the World Trade Centre memorial pools , museum and freedom tower , which I visited including a group tour.
Easy to get to midtown and Central Park from this location on the subway.
Plenty of food places close to the hotel.
The location is perfect for us since we take a train to Penn Station. It is also within walking distance of most Broadway Theaters, which are always on our agenda . Our room was just as advertised, queen bed ,attractive and clean , with a great view. We have stayed at the New Yorker twice, and were pleased with both visits. We particularly enjoy the 24 hour coffeeshop downstairs, Tick Tock, for breakfast. The price was not cheap, but reasonable for New York City.
Hotel is well located in the financial district, close to the waterfront and Brooklyn Bridge. Easy to get in and out of. Neighborhood is quiet compared to midtown, which is nice. You still have plenty of places to go eat / drink around.
The rooms are very big for NYC, and the bedding is high quality (down filled pillows and good mattresses).
The staff is also very friendly and helpful.
The hotel is also quite cheap considering this is New-York City.
Location is perfect for everything NYC & Manhattan had to offer. Most major attractions are within easy walking distance. The Subway network is great for anything further afield & with contactless payment meant no time trying to work out what ticket you needed for what at a machine, you just paid once on entry for each journey.
Local restaurants & diners away from the Times Square are generally cheaper and more 'authentic'
Great location!! Our room was very comfortable, with a great view on the Times Square. The hotel was great, have a big lobby with activities for the kids, bar, restaurant and a big terrace with a great view on Time Square. Breakfast was very good, all the staff was very nice.
Near to Broadway, near to Central Park, near to Hop on/Hop Off station, near to subway station.
The best choice for a visit to New York!!
The location of the hotel was perfect, just a block away from 5th Avenue and within walking distance to Central Park, Times Square, Grand Central, and Bryant Park.
The room was clean and comfortable, surprisingly spacious for New York City standards. The staff members were polite and the food at the hotel restaurant was great.
Overall, we had an amazing experience and would definitely stay here again!
Cheap price compared with hotel
Amazing location - near of empire state building, flatiron, Penn Station, The Edge, Times Square..
Lot of bathrooms - you will probably find unoccupied
Doors are pincoded - both rooms and main doors so you will feel safe
Subway is near
Private room - its advantage when we consider this is hostel, not hotel.
Warm water
Drink machines in kitchen
2 fridges in kitchen
We were pleasantly surprised by Radio City Apartments! We were a family of 5 and the 2 bedroom apartment was perfect with all we needed for a weeks stay. The apartment decor was a bit dated but very clean, well equipped and serviced daily! The staff were friendly. The location is right near Times Square and there is a metro on the corner. Great value for money in New York considering the room size.
The location was great, we came from another hotel in which had very bad internet in Times Square, here the internet was very good, initially we received a room which smelled like a cheap cigars club, but the staff was very helpful and changed it immediately. The room was ok, the furniture could have been better, the room was a good 3 stars one, but not 4 stars.
The location can't be beat. If you want to be near Times Square or the theater district, this is where you want to be. The room was a decent size for New York City and the staff was always very helpful. Breakfast was included in the price - the Grab and Go was handy but for $5 - the french toast in the cafe was definitely worth it.
The King size room was of a great size. especially given this is Manhattan.
The beds were super comfortable.
the location of this hotel is fabulous as it is on Times Square
the hotel provided water in the rooms which felt great
the breakfast is very good especially if you sit in the restaurant instead of the Grab and Go
The room was clean with a very comfortable bed. The location was good and close to Broadway, Times Square and close to multiple restaurants. The front desk people were very nice and helpful. The hotel stored our bags when we had to check out so that we could continue our exploration of New York City.
Decent hotel in a great location if you love to be in downtown New York City. While Canal Street can be a little iffy, this location is on the cleaner end, right below Soho's West Broadway, and next to Tribeca. And the price beats many of the cooler hotels in the area, if you're on a budget.
Location! in addition, the room was very clean and the bed super comfortable. for a New York City hotel, the sq footage was a little tinier than I used to. Make sure your limber enough to climb over your partner to get out of bed.
Great location walking distance to times square and outside Penn Station. Old style New York decor, beautiful reception area.
Great value for money when we went. Cheap for New York.
Friendly and helpful staff.
The location was nice: near Central Park and Times Square.
Also, a few subway stations at walking distance.
The hotel was a good starting point for visiting Manhattan overall.
It is centrally located if you are looking to do tourist activities near Times Square. It is close to public transit for easy access to the rest of the city.
Loved the decor of hotel and the location. Staff was super friendly! Loved the staff at Smile to Go also, and it was also great value for New York City.
