I grew up in Newark when it was a vibrant village before the disappearance of Jackson Perkins, Bloomer Bros and the State School and before Urbanization. Today Newark is a dark shadow of the community I have such fond memories of. It needs literally a fresh coat of paint. It is good to see Colburn Park in use and the public schools being maintained. Parker’s and Cross Park are good new eateries. Main Street is undergoing urban renewal II and that compounded by the loss of a key bridge over the Erie Canal has made downtown traffic a mess.

Had a great time during my stay in Newark New York. Wished my visit would have been longer. Front desk person was so nice and friendly (wish I had remembered her name) the staff made you feel very comfortable and really at home.. Breakfast was so yummy and had alot to choose from and was very fresh fruits and warm hot food.. Was a great area to be in cause there is alot to do around the area also, so you don't have to be stuck in your room all day (if you chose to leave your room, in which I didn't) the pool area i large and your able to hop into the pool and then have a snack on the tables that are located in the pool area. Can't wait to book my next visit to Newark, New York and staying at this wonderful, friendly hotel..

After my son and family were in the car 12 hours to attend his sisters wedding. They were exhausted by 6 am and were looking for a clean place to lay their head for a few hours. They drove to the Newark Inn which had good reviews and found the place to be a disgusting place that smelled like pot and people partying all around the place.

Newark was just lovely. We enjoyed going along the canal while walking our beagel ... he just loved it. And it is very dog friendly and clean. We enjoyed seeing the boats. There was a small pavilion with a small band playing on Friday evening. Very lovely town.

We were impressed on the cleanliness of the parks and the town it self.Everyone there of all ages was friendly and cordial.There are many fine restaurants to chose from and alot in walking distance to our hotel. We totally recommend on a friday summer night sitting at the Erie canal park and listening to the free concert. The next day they had a fantastic free pig roast with all the trimmings and live music. It was a joy for us to walk the Erie canal walk which surprisingly kept mowed and clean. This was a very relaxing weekend and also our trip to 3 Brothers Winery only 30 min. away.We will definitely return next year.

We initially went up for the annual 50 mile yard sales on Route 90 but found them very disappointing. But the people in New York are very friendly. Stayed at the Newark Garden Hotel in Newark, New York. Really made our stay thanks to Dave and his staff. Dave told us about "Sodus Point" which is a lovely shore resort area. Spent Saturday there and had a fabulous time. Captain Jack's a must to eat. Besure to try "Perry's ice cream. So many delicious flavors. My husband stopped in both the American Legion and VFW within walking distance of hotel. Extremely friendly folks. Hope to visit again next year.
