The terrible experience started at the front desk as there was one gentleman working at the counter and 5 individual parties inline. The one employee was inefficient and did little to speed up the process as he gossiped about nothing to the persons standing at the counter. Two of the parties in line walked out. I had no choice but to wait as I pre-paid for the room. If the rest of the stay was acceptable, then the check-in process would most likely have been forgotten. I was in room 216, which is one floor above the parking area and first floor rooms and there was a 3rd floor too. The property had an internal staircase from the parking lot to the upper floors. The second-floor stairs ran along an outside wall of my room 216 and the stairs to the third floor ran along another wall of my room. There was continuous activity up and down the stairs up to 2am. The walls of the room were not insulated enough to deaden the loud noise from the stairwells or the slamming of the doors entering/leaving the staircase. It was a horrible experience, and it was so loud you would think that the stairs were in your room. It was about 6am and the activity up and down the staircase started again. In the end, there were only a few brief hours of silence with little to no sleep. There are several rooms at this property that run along both stairwells to the upper floors that must have the same issues as room 216. I will never go back to this property ever again. Lastly, I have stayed 1,000+ nights in hotels all over the world and this is certainly one of the poorest experiences I have ever had.

Beach is beautiful but cold, perfect for bodysurf with the kids! The most difficult in Old Orchard Beach is to select a good hotel, since a couple of years the price are very expensive and you need to pay a couple of hundreds dollars/night. In high season the low price motel are mostly outdated and disgusting, it's very frustrating to pay 300-400$/night for a motel who are normally a 75$/night motel.

This is our favorite spot to vacation; I've been coming here as a kid and my husband and I spent part of our honeymoon there - that was 30 years ago. We've since taken our kids there and they fell in love with Old Orchard Beach as well.

I really like it there, but it’s all very pricey.
I really like it there, but it’s all very pricey. It helps if you bring some of your own food and drinks, and enough money!! There are ATMs, although you will get charged a fee from both the ATM and your own bank.

If you love to walk on the beach you can walk for miles on the beach here. The beaches were clean. The only thing in short supply in my opinion were restrooms. We were only able to locate restrooms downtown.

Property clean and amenities provided. Owners were kind, friendly and helpful.
The only drawback would be the train that ran less than 20 feet from our door. It went by every two hours or so. This was not mentioned on the website at all when reservations were made.

The room was spacious. The bed was very comfortable as was the entire room. The staff was kind & courteous. I had never stayed at this resort before, I highly recommend it! It’s close to Palace Playland, and also the beach! A great location, a great hotel with amazing rooms, great staff & wonderful amenities! The Wi-Fi worked, there was a pool & hot tub. I’d definitely stay there again!!

There no breakfast included, but the restaurant attached to the hotel was above expectations, lots of variety in the menu, quick service and awesome food. Love the location of the hotel and we stayed in the cottage “Captain’s Cottage “, which was very clean very spacious and quiet. The beach access was only 3-5 min walk wich was also one of the nicest beach I’ve seen.

Every member of staff was cheerful and enthusiastic about helping customers. The room was decorated in a very comfortable and fresh feeling design. I'm very pleased that our original plans had been canceled, otherwise we would never had found this jewel of a hotel.

We only spent one night. We were in Maine to view various lighthouses. The facility met our needs. In the summer it would be a nice location to be close to the ocean. We were there in the fall and it was cold and rainy.
