We loved the feel of The Shell Beach Inn; I believe they renovated it in 2009, and they did a great job! It’s cute, comfortable, close to everything Pismo, and a short drive to SLO. They were very friendly & helpful during check-in & check-out; we would stay here again.

It’s exactly what’s pictured and more! For the price to have 2 “bedrooms” it’s honestly the best way to go. I came with my a total of 4 people and it fit all of us perfectly. The couch turns into a bed and fits 2 people and has a separate bedroom. While there is no front desk the number responds super quick!

View from the grounds of the resort were exceptional. Friendly staff. Great breakfast. I would suggest paying less for the room (example, book the cheaper rooms) since once you are outside, there are a ton of seating areas where you can enjoy amazing views. No need to pay for the high end rooms since for us, we didn’t sit on our balcony anyway. The views elsewhere at the resort were far better. We saw a ton of whales passing through as we sat outside on the benches on the left of the resort and also from the high chairs at the bar area during breakfast.

    We are from the Central Valley so Pismo is a short trip to the beach. I love it here but it’s really busy and congested on the strip and at the beach. Also there are cigarette smokers everywhere and outside of restaurants and the smell is so strong as an outside diner. Brads, The Cracked Crab and Splash cafe are reason enough to come up just to eat. There’s a restaurant genre for everyone. Really great restaurants in Pismo. The locals are friendly. The Pier is beautiful and recently remodeled so it has a ton of great photo opps. The sunsets in Pismo are incredible.

    The beach was clean and the people with their dogs were respectful. I highly recommend the cinnamon rolls arounder the corner are a must! If you like italian, Guiseppes Is deliouis! We went out of our way for food, you get more for your money and better food that way.

    Fantastic beach located in a great part of the state.

    Fantastic beach located in a great part of the state. Central California coast has a lot to offer and see. People are friendly and layed back, with all the shops and pier and all the other small towns that have their own uniqueness with things to do within an hours drive, Pismo Beach area is a great vacation destination.

    Pismo Beach is a lovely small beach town.

    Pismo Beach is a lovely small beach town. It retains the quaint oceanfront vibe without being overly populated. Just as some of the signs and one of the stores says...Not LA, not the Bay Area. It's just a nice location to relax, wander, and enjoy the beach views. Also, can't recommend the Cool Cat Cafe more for their good food and AMAZING milkshakes!!!

    The Beach has powder soft sand that my feet loves. This trip the Beach at the end of Main st. the Beach Stunck, first time ever for me, but it was really bad. Whether was Beautiful even the Evening was nice sitting outside. If you bring a pooch with make sure to bring your poop ooh bags. Some places are high but It's not too hard to find good prices around the pier. CoolCat Cafe has good food 😋

    Great time under the sun.

    Great time under the sun. They allow cars on the beach making it easier to unload and load the car of our chairs, equipment and food supplies. There were vehicles up and down the beach patrolling ensuring everyone's safety and there were Buggie rentals right down the street for a more thrilling day. The restrooms were nearby and clean. Our area was clean and free of too much Debree. The sand, sun, and water were perfect.

    We booked the hotel last minute as we were not sure where we would be on our California road trip! This hotel was a great find, I read the excellent reviews and thought will book and we were not disappointed! The rooms were accessible from the carpark, cosy, homely and they thought of everything. Nice coffee, little complimentary touches, makeup station, comfortable bed, fridge, popcorn for film watching! Hotel is so convenient to Pismo beach and getting back on the road. Well done, a great stay!

    The location of this wonderful hotel at the cliff is perfect. The rooms are absolutely gorgeous, as is the ocean view. Close to the beach for all kind of sportive activities like running, swimming, surfing... The staff is extremely friendly and attentive. The breakfast is really delicious. We really would have liked staying longer here and we love to come back on our next trip.

    Our room, 324, was bright with a comfy, king sized bed, flat screen tv and ensuite. The restaurant had amazing views over the ocean and the service throughout the hotel was excellent. The food was also very good. The beach was literally on the doorstep and the parking (we were on motorbikes) was very secure.

    Oxford was a nice hotel which suited our purposes as an overnight stay on our roadtrip. The hotel is a little tired and could do with a refresh but overall it was comfortable and clean. The breakfast was basic but lovely. It's a bonus to have breakfast thrown into the cost of the stay.

    I was charged 80.00 for a room transfer 2 room away even when the original room was not available because of a plumbing problem. I realize it’s a business but I will never come back because of that. There are plenty of other fine hotels in the area that will not do that.
