Located 1 minutes’ walk from Portland’s Pearl District, this boutique hotel offers a daily continental breakfast and a complimentary wine tasting each evening. Hotel staff members were very attentive and nice. There are a few multi-lingual (Japanese) staff members so even if you do not speak fluent English, you can probably get by. The hotel gives you some discount coupons for nearby restaurants (Quick Fish Poke Bar down the street was super nice), so that's a plus. Breakfast was also very good, and the bonus is daily cookies and wine! 日本語スタッフが常駐しているので安心です。

A nice laid back west coast city with open social values. Interesting urban architecture...great dining and beverage experiences. Tax-free shopping. Friendly respectful citizens. Good drivers. Excellent public transport.
Portland, especially the Pearl District where we were staying and eating, is way cool! Great restaurants, pubs, Powell's Bookstore - fun just to walk around the neighborhood. The weather is iffy - first day great, then rain and cold. It's typical NW US climate; plus, this visit was in January - can't expect perfect weather.
A great walking City with lots of amazing restaurants and shopping. The people of Portland were exceptionally friendly. We did a food walking tour we Eats Adventure which was fabulous. Q restaurant and Luc Lac are a must. We definitely be back!
It is better to have a company, because there are many taprooms, breweries, coffee shops and restaurants you can go. There isn't too much sightseeing, there are some national forests you can visit, really amazing. Winter is not so cold, but there is a big chance of raining. I visited Portland during winter season and I really enjoyed it. For sure, I would like to visit it once more during summer.
Portland is extraordinarily quiet and relaxed: perhaps ‘laid back’ might be the most appropriate term. The restaurant scene is lively and continuously evolving. Otherwise there are few major attractions. We visited Washington Park (an easy direct ride on the Max railway)and the beautiful Hoyt Arboretum on a glorious autumn day - strongly recommended if the weather is nice. We thought the Saturday/Sunday Market distinctly below par and hardly worth the time.
Portland is quirky and fun and i really enjoyed my time there. For me it's not weird enough to live up to its "keep Portland weird slogan" but it is still unique on its own. The people are also friendly, and the downtown is really well connected and we found that its really easy to navigate ourselves in the city with the help of its affordable public transport. We also enjoyed visiting the parks and gardens in Portland, especially the rose garden. the recommended attractions like pittock mansion and the cable car were also great.
Great hotel in the heart of downtown Portland. We were able to walk everywhere or take public transportation to get across the river. The staff were so friendly and helpful, they even contact you by text (with your permission) to check on your stay which allows a really customized experience with help readily available. The bed was very comfortable and the soaker tub was huge and came with complimentary bath salts, nice touch! We will definitely stay here again the next time were visiting Portland.
Excellent price, less than half excellent price, less than half of what you would expect to pay for that sort of proximity to downtown and to the light rail. The light rail running directly in front of the hotel did not adverse Lee impact our stay. A little white noise took care of it, and the convenience more than offset any sort of inconvenience associated with the limited noise. The stop was two blocks away and took you right down to the center of Portland.
My daughter and I have an annual Christmas shopping trip where we stay in a different hotel/motel in downtown Portland. This year we chose The Staypinapple/Rose Hotel. The hotel was very bright and warm. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. The room was very nice, tho it wasn't very big but the view was excellent of the river. An added bonus for us was that we got to see the Christmas Boat Parade 3 nights in a row!
Clean, modern, remodeled and chic are good ways to describe this recently redone hotel. From what I understand, it has been refurbished from some older building. The rooms are spacious, the rooftop nice, the breakfast good, and the staff helpful. The area is a little dodgy so you have to be comfortable walking through some sketchy scenes. It is very close to the nice part of the Pearl District and close to Slabtown and Downtown.
Greeted by the owner, Nick. Very nice guy! The location is very close to Portland's public transportation which takes you right downtown. It's also in the Hollywood district with lots of places to see and eat at. The rooms are clean and very affordable! We would stay here again. Tip: you can take the train from the airport and get off at the Hollywood center exit and walk a few blocks to the hotel.
The staff was nice and go beyond the best service. They're making sure you are perfect. The breakfast are absolutely delicious. And the lady who taking care of the breakfast room are super nice and friendly. The location of this one is super convenient and there is gas station and Walmart right behind the hotel also foods place. Easy to off to downtown or Washington
My boyfriend and I wanted to see Portland and felt lucky that we found this hotel located near Pioneer Square/Downtown for a good price. Let me tell you, the Dossier is top notch! With the beautiful decor, great amenities, and amazing customer service, I could not have asked for a better experience! I hope to stay there again if we’re ever back in Portland :)
The place is new, totally clean and comfortable. It offers coffe at the room (a machine), has a big flat tv, usb plugs to charge phones, feather pillows, a shuttle to the airport, I really liked it. It is perfect if you have to go to airport early in the morning. If you are in the downtown, you can use a train you can catch a hundred meters from the hotel.
Great location, walking distance to downtown. Lots of cute restaurants and cafes along the water just steps from the hotel. Great staff. Great breakfast. There are a couple of parkades on the same block as the hotel which are significantly cheaper for parking if you don't want to pay for valet.
Cheap place close to Portland, pretty far from Downtown! Friendly staff, could book another room because the first one was too dirty (waste on the floor, lots of hair in the bed & bathroom - seemed not cleaned). Second one was a bit better and a bit cheaper cause of smaller bed.
Loved the location in downtown Portland with easy access to public transport, which we wanted for seeing the Zoo Lights. But I especially appreciated the staff. Each person was really friendly and helpful, and our breakfast server was the best.
This is a great value and straightforward no-frills hotel. Access to Downtown Portland is super straightforward via the MAX Light Rail immediately adjacent to the hotel, with a journey time of about 15 minutes.
Family run hotel, run by lovely people who are very willing to help and make sure that guests are welcome and comfortable. Location is great, restaurants, bars etc. Only a short walk from central downtown.
Location is the best thing of this hotel. Close to downtown, close to famous places of Portland, close to public transportations.
Cheep in Portland. Also, direct bus to the downtown is very very close. That was nice.
The hotel is newly renovated and close to downtown and other interesting areas.
A beautiful hotel with great architecture in the heart of downtown Portland !
Lots of facilities, swimming pool, hot tub, coffee shop. Close to the airport
Beautiful interior design. Great location. Loved the 5pm cocktails!
