Cedar Cove Cottage offers a private beach area, as well as accommodations with a kitchen in Portsmouth. Free WiFi is provided. It was a beautiful setting to celebrate my birthday with my family! The kids loved all the boating and exploring new places.
This bed and breakfast is one block from Bristol Harbor, which is part of Narragansett Bay. The inn offers a daily homemade breakfast and free Wi-Fi. Breakfast was very good. The location was perfect to go for a day trip to various places around the area! Inn Keepers were so pleasant and very helpful!
This hotel is surrounded by a park like garden with a swimming pool and tennis court. This is a magnificent place. Beautiful home in a perfect location with incredible views. Breakfast was delicious and on a great patio with ocean front views. The extra amenities like hors d'oeuvres in the evening; drinks and snacks; and bikes were great. You can bike to a 1740 farm museum or to a sea side park. This is an elegant place you go to relax and rejuvenate. We are looking forward to returning.
Set in Newport County, Rhode Island, The East Island Reserve features keyless access, free WiFi access and free private parking. I loved how comfortable my family was the whole time of our stay. I was able to cook in our cottage dinner so we didn’t have to go out to eat all the time . Was simple amazing
Portsmouth is a lovely area surrounded by water. Very pretty, scenic and close to everything. A short drive to Newport or Bristol. Nice restaurants and stores. Also near winery and convenient to travel around the area. You can see and experience being on the water and in the water and wineries and shops plus rest and relaxation.
The whole area is great! Beaches, restaurants, shopping, Saturday afternoon Polo, walking the harbor area around Thames street, International tennis Hall of Fame and grounds, the Cliff Walk along the ocean, 12 mile drive, the mansions and Dell's Lemon Ice! It's an amazing area where you can do many things without costing you money...which is very rare.
We didn't get to see a lot since it was a less then 24 hour trip, but loved the food at the two places we went to and the beach area was beautiful. Lovely area to walk and relax. Only wish we had more time to explore. Definitely would go back.
I can breathe! The air, even during the height of pollen season, is so clean! Portsmouth is a short bridge away from Bristol and other quaint New England towns, and a relaxing short drive to Newport, Narragansett, and wonderful coastline. Not forgetting, of course, the touristy stuff, like the Breakers, mansions, museums, vineyards, and the busy nightlife of Newport and its marina. People of Portsmouth are generally very friendly and hospitable. I'll definitely return to escape the "everthang's bigger in Texas" mentality of Dallas. Actually, you'll love the three car lengths people give you here, versus the half a car length you get in Dallas.
Portsmouth has its own history, dating back to Anne Hutchinson, but it yields to Newport, which has all the bells and whistles of colonial and US history. Portsmouth is a good access point for what remains of quaint RI towns in the area and, shall we say, doesn't overtax you with attractions.
The staff at all of the business establishments I visited were very friendly and helpful. If they didn't have want I wanted they told me where I could find it. A very nice community that I would consider for my retirement.

Loved having a kitchenette and a living room separate from the bedroom. The decor was old fashioned but very clean. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. We would definitely stay there again.
