I enjoyed the fort, walking the historic district, eating at Columbia, O’Steens, and other local restaurants. The evening eco tour we booked from the marina was worth it. We also spent a couple of hours at Anastasia Park beach.(only Uber we took-we walked everywhere!)Not crowded at all!

    Seeing the Fort at St.

Seeing the Fort at St. Augustine was really interesting and fun. There are some nice shops, and many "touristy" ones. Restaurants were crowded, and we had one great meal and the remainder were average (we had three meals total while visiting). We did not stay long enough to properly see all the different shopping venues and attractions, because honestly after 1-1/2 days, we were tired of the crowds of tourists everywhere, waiting for long periods to get seated in restaurants-or being unable to get reservations at restaurants, and the truly horrible parking situation. There literally is about half the amount of parking space needed, and where available it is ridiculously expensive. We had briefly passed through St. Augustine before, and thought it had a European feel, and were excited to go back with more time to explore, however, upon closer examination, St. Augustine feels more like Disneyland than Europe. Restaurants were largely disappointing as to food and ambience, but with crowds the size of which were there, the restaurants do not have to try too hard. We ate at Fish Camp, which was the one good meal we had, tried to go to the Preservation Kitchen, but it had a 90-minute wait, so went to the affiliated Italian place next door and had a mediocre meal there, as well as a mediocre meal at BlackFly. Favorite spots were the Fort and the Greek Orthodox Shrine. Getting around is not easy--the streets are narrow and overrun with tourists, and there is little available parking and what is available is expensive.

A visit to St Augustine is just a lot of fun!

A visit to St Augustine is just a lot of fun! For history buffs, it’s a must. For people who like great restaurants, it’s great. It’s old, but very lively. You’re close to the beach and all the regular beach activities. My favorite restaurant is Harry’s! I know it’s part of a small chain, but the Cajun dishes are wonderful. Get a ticket for one of the tour trolleys. It makes getting around town a breeze!

Great historical town, guides were very knowledgeable, easy to get around with trolleys running frequently very accommodating at all places you visit food n restaurants excellent, good pricing b lots of variety for types of food.. something for everyone. Only thing we didn't like was some of the sites you had to pay at each one I e. The jail, general store etc. can get pricey after a while. But I really well worth the time, very enjoyable all round

    A city steeped in history.

A city steeped in history. Great sights, lots of options for tours, many interesting and historic houses, terrific restaurants, bars and live music. Walking through some of the old streets is delightful. Though we are retired there were lots of young families and it seemed like a great place to bring children or grandchildren--lots of outdoor space, activities for kids and easy to get around with strollers, etc.

When we were there at New Years the streets etc: were filled with people of Spanish decent. No one spoke English. I have no idea what was going on. We felt like we were in a different country. The stores were great as usual and there was a free concert in the historical area. We went to the Pirates museum and that was amazing. Their curator was excellent. We have been in St. Augustine several times and we enjoy it every time.

A fully functional apartment with a kitchen, washing machine, and everything you can expect. A parking place for the guests, another spot for a visitor. Cleanliness. All this makes it an excellent alternative to a hotel. An ideal place for a couple or a small family for a city break or a short vacation, next to the Atlantic ocean, with beach access, and very close to the historic center of the nation's oldest city. The property is not cheap and a deposit is required, but it's possibly worth every dollar spent.

We were celebrating our 27th Wedding Anniversary and took a trip to St. Augustine! So glad that we booked our room at Southern Oaks Inn! The location was great, the breakfast was great and the free shuttle to the Historic District was so great! The staff member Brittany got us an Anniversary Card, a box of chocolates and 2 free drinks! This was above and beyond and so very sweet! Just a perfect stay and an incredible Anniversary weekend! We will be back for sure!! Thanks Southern Oaks Staff!!!

We did not have breakfast but the beds were very comfortable and the renovations inside were really nice! Friendly staff and we would stay again. Just a suggestion, if perhaps this hotel had a taxi service to get us more downtown in St. Augustine that would be awesome. Uber and Lyft rides were very hard to come by but then again, we were there for a festival.

All staff we encountered were helpful and responsive. Our children enjoyed the size and accessibility of the swimming pool. The location of the hotel was close to downtown and a short drive to Anastasia Island, the lighthouse, St. Augustine Alligator Farm and beaches.

The room was clean. The location was so close to the historic downtown. It is a quick 5-10 minute walk across the Lions Bridge to St George Street! It isn't a luxury hotel, but the room was clean, safe, in a good location, and had a big TV!

The location is lovely, close to the beach. It is a two stars hotel, so do not have too many expectations, but it was pricey for Its category and in strong need of a refurbishment.
