Our only complaint was that initially we were on from memory level 11 and level 16, not close by despite our request and an email confirmation. Overall though the staff were exceptional, the lady in the bar restaurant should be recognised, she does such a great job for you, as are the other guys- please acknowledge them.
The cleaning staff were also lovely people.

Home to one of America’s icons – the Golden Gate Bridge – San Francisco is a liberal city where life is very much for the living.
Surrounded on 3 sides by water, it is spread over steep hills that make for great photo opportunities. None better than the zig-zag Lombard Street seen in many a film. Other movie stars are the streetcars plying the hill climbs – a little touristy, but still worth trying.
In the middle of the bay is Alcatraz island, famed for the notorious criminals once imprisoned there. Even if you don’t fancy going inside, the views towards the bridge and city are unparalleled.
Nowhere in San Francisco is life more laidback than on the Pacific beaches. Hire a bike and head out there via the huge Golden Gate Park, before returning to sample some fresh seafood at Fisherman’s Wharf. The clam chowder served in (yes, actually in!) bread is a delight. Chinatown also has a great selection of good value restaurants.
As you fly into San Francisco Airport, look out for the exclusive homes lining the Bay Area. Whether you want to stay in apartments along those lines, luxury San Francisco hotels or cheap hostels, Booking.com has something to suit. Be careful though – you might just leave your heart here.

Fisherman’s orphan is the most popular part of the city for visitors. The sidewalks are terribly littered and dirty. This does not give a good impression at all. In addition, homeless, and or seemingly disturbed people, hang out on the sidewalks. I was accosted and cursed out one morning By a man who was clearly not in his right mind.

The trip to Alcatraz is a must; however, be prepared for a lot of walking on steep inclines. Thankfully there are rest areas at each level incline.
The cell audio is very well done with good narration.
Be sure to walk around Fisherman's Wharf, there are lots of restaurants.

The city is a mixed-bag these days, as anyone who pays attention to the news knows. Homelessness and drug use are indeed rampant in some areas. Sadly.
The city is architecturally stunning, and those sights are still worthy of a visit. Be hyper-aware of your surroundings. Despite this, there are kind, generous people you will meet who make the visit worthwhile.

Fisherman's warf was very tourist but a must do.
Fisherman's warf was very tourist but a must do. Food, hotel, and entertainment was much more expensive than anticipated. Alcatraz tour was a good deal compared to everything else. Nearby Sausolito was very pleasant and able to get there on rental bikes. Homelessness in downtown is very depressing and disturbing. Avoid this area. City overall seemed very dirty as well except in main tourists areas.

It’s a lovely city.
It’s a lovely city. Sadly, the problem with homeless people etc is evident at every turn and can be a little unnerving with the ones with a mental health issue. However , it’s definitely worth a visit. Plenty options for things to do .

SF is a beautiful city but the city is being consumed by homeless people, drugs, and trash especially in the tenderloin neighborhood. Driving around in that area is sort of scary. Every time I go back to SF is seems to be getting worse. Another down side of SF is parking, if you go on the weekend it is very difficult to find park available and if you decide to park in a parking garage it can get quite expensive. My recommendation is to walk if you are able too, plus walking is a great way to see the most of SF. SF is not all bad it has many great things to offer for example. Oracle Park you can always catch a great! baseball game. They also have tons of museums, cathedrals, missions and Golden gate park. I definitely can not forget to mentions that their gastronomy is amazing. So many delicious and unique restaurants. Not to mention their beautiful roof tops at night when the whole city and the Golden Gate Bridge is lit up is just a beautiful sight. Over all SF is a wonderful city to visit do your research before coming plain out your activities and you will have an amazing time.
As you enter the staff are so welcoming.
The location is great for a base, close to union square, chinatown and trams to get around .but a few roads away so not so hectic which is nice.the rooms were a good size with modern decor and really comfy beds.
Had everything you needed amenity wise.
Would definitely recommend it as a base for san francisco. There is a handy 7/11 store across the road and a nice American diner a few doors down . And a cool bar in the hotel itself.
Great choice!
Very well located for Union Square, Chinatown, North Beach and Embarcadero areas of San Francisco and we were able to walk to most places easily from this hotel. The staff were friendly, and the quirky rooms were spacious. There was a simple continental breakfast included, which we were satisfied with on one occasion although we did choose to go out for brunch one morning instead. There is a complimentary wine hour in the evening, with snacks, which was a nice touch.
We had a short 3-day stay in San Francisco and enjoyed our time at the Handlery Union Square Hotel. The bed was comfortable. There was a small fridge were we could store some items.
Clean room and refreshed every day. We had some benefits at a nearby diner as thanks for being a Handlery guest.
The Hotel is on the margins of Union Square, which in itself is safe. A bit of caution needed when going a few streets beyond.
Very nice and accommodating staff and a great location near union square. We could reach a lot of sights and activities in San Francisco in walking distance or easily via public transport directly in front of and near the hotel.
Very nice hotel located in nice area of San Francisco. Easy connection to the downtown by bus that stops around the corner. A lot of restaurants around. Big rooms with very comfortable beds.
