Smallish town,all the locals were friendly and helpful. The weather was pleasant,but the scenery,the mountains,and stunning views,for me personally it was heaven. I tried the Mexican place next to the hotel,the food was good. Other than that,just fast food. If you are looking for night clubs,excitement and fast paced entertainment,then this town is not for you. If you want a relaxed,friendly,slow paced break in the sun,with glorious views,then Santa Paula is the place to go. I visited their airport to go wingwalking,great place with a small museum. I don't drive,but found it easy enough getting round. There are enough shops for you to find whatever you need. It's a hidden gem that needs to be experienced.
since i have dogs i liked that the room they put us in was all tile. the thing i didn't like was that the ac didn't work properly but it worked well enough for us not to have to call to get it fixed. it is very quiet at night in the area that the hotel was located.
Santa Paula is a fairly well kept secret along the California coast. It's only 15 miles to the beach, but has the small farm town feeling of a community. Get some tri-tip when you're in town. Other cities don't know how to cook it right.
“The hotel is wonderful. Loved the old style decor particularly the framed film posters. The lounge is beautiful - felt like we were part of an old Hollywood film set. The restaurant Enzo's is also lovely and we had a very tasty Italian meal.”
“A very quaint hotel tucked away in Santa Paula, only 10 mins from bustling Ventura. Rooms were exceptionally spacious with high ceilings, great decor and air conditioning. Continental breakfast served each morning and kitchenette well supplied. Would visit again.”
