We went to Santa Rosa for the car museum which was closed the day we arrived; went the next day though and it was good. Very friendly owner. The only other attraction was the Blue Hole. Santa Rosa looks sad and neglected since Route 66 changed but locals are trying to build up some shops in town. I can imagine how vibrant it would have been 50 years ago in its heyday. Santa Rosa is worth a stop if you’re passing through and it has great gas stations with cheap fuel.

The city was full of miserable folks. and the majority of the gas stations close super early, and i think the mcdonalds legit just microwaves their food. The only person who was friendly was the gentleman at the sunset motel. That man was a breath of fresh air after driving 11 hours to be yelled at by 3 women working at the TA gas station.

This was a very nice getaway.

This was a very nice getaway. Short distance to the Blue Hole for divers. It was clean and comfortable. You are kinda in a canyon area so Wi-Fi can be spotty if too many people are on it. Host is awesome!

It was convenient to the highway and the clerk I dealt with upon arrival was very pleasant. Unfortunately I didn't get her name but she gave a very good first impression. My only issue was the cleanliness of the bathroom, floor specifically. The over abundance of paint over everything also was a bit off putting. Overall, for what we wanted it was a good choice.

Staff was excellent, friendly, and helpful.

Staff was excellent, friendly, and helpful. Impressive rooms with comfortable beds. A big flat screen TV, with more channels than we knew what to do with. Parking area was well lit and plenty of room for our pickup and trailer. Way better than average breakfast with full fixings for our coffee. Easy and close access to I-40, but yet no road noise at all. Highly recommended and would stay again when in the area.

Made reservation and advise the website. I wanted a carpeted floor because I have arthritis and is difficult for me to walk on hard surface. When I checked in the girl look like she was absolutely on crack cocaine. She’s in procedure to tell me your rooms do not come with carpet even though the photographs on the website showed they did? I ended up paying 35+ dollars additional to upgrade the room for that price. I could’ve had a nicer hotel room overall somewhere else!

WARNING!!!! if you book this motel you will not get a refund when you arrive and find scorpions and rats in your room. Booking.com should remove this motel from their web site, and be held liable for booking at hotels like this. The deadbolt on the door did not work, probably because the door has been kicked in before.

Great hotel! It was clean, comfortable, and affordably priced. I stayed at many La Quinta hotels on my trip and they were all well kept, clean and comfortable. The only thing that varied was the pet deposit, it was individual to the specific location.
