This is such a beautiful town filled with great restaurants and shopping. The views are amazing, and you are so close to many things to do. We had a fabulous Grand Canyon tour. There was so much more to see and do including finding out that there are some good wineries right outside of town. We plan to go back!

Pretty.

Pretty. It's crowded on the main drag, but that's because people like it. Lots of bars/restaurants and much of it is walkable. Didn't see to much rowdiness. Great views. A tip - if Google maps tries to send you on a route that includes "Thompson Rd." good luck. We saw a Thompson Way at the locatiion indicated, but it had a gate. Google hallucination I guess, Anyway, enoyed it.

This is an amazing destination if you're into hiking.

This is an amazing destination if you're into hiking. The Devil's Bridge is awesome as was the Boynton Canyon Trail. There are many more as well. We were told it can get crowded at times. We were there in mid-October and the crowds weren't a problem if you start out early.

We couldn't stay, sadly.

We couldn't stay, sadly. We were there just one night, during which my sister developed a shocking cold, so she wasn't up to the walk we had planned the next morning and we moved on. However, in a year or so we plan to make up for this and stay a few days. We thought the town looked lovely and the scenery around was fabulous. There are so many interesting trails waymarked we were sad not to do any this time.

Sedona is a beautiful town - lots of things to do, places to...

Sedona is a beautiful town - lots of things to do, places to eat. Of course since it's a small town, sometimes the volume of visitors creates traffic and difficulty getting into dining of choice. You need a car. No ride options. If you plan to visit spend some time - I joined a FB page 6 mo ahead - to start to get a feel for what would fit our needs for a 4nt 3 1/2 day trip. It paid off because I had a basic itinerary for the days - trails planned, tours arranged, and restaurants reserved. If you are a whatever type, then that will work, too, just be prepared to adjust plans due to things not available. Bottom line, spend some time researching all there is in Sedona. We hiked (age 71 & 75) Soldier's Pass to the Cave, Faye Canyon, West Fork (afternoon), & Devil's Bridge (crowded). All were awesome - go early & be familiar with availability of parking. (AllTrails app is your friend) Th-S you may have to use shuttle if you don't get to trailhead early - like sunrise. We did Pink Jeep Combo tour - FUN. We ate at the Hudson, Javelina Cantina, Secret Garden, Mesa Grill, Coffee Pot Cafe & Sedonuts on our way out of town. We weren't impressed with Sedonuts but everything else was great.

My wife has been wanting to visit Sedona for a couple years now. So glad we finally decided to visit. It is a beautiful area. We went in “off season” - summer. We are used to hot temperatures so the heat was really not a problem for us. Bonus, in off season it is really easy to get around the area in a car. I spoke to a Sedona resident who said in peak season it can take her over an hour just to drive her son to school. Uptown has so many shops to visit. We also enjoyed local restaurants and saw very few big national chain restaurants. One of our favorites was the ChocolaTree. All organic, fresh and unique dishes.

Small cabins like park models but efficiently planned and very comfortable. Showing their age a bit but they provide everything you need in a home base to access the hiking in Sedona. The pool was large and welcome after a day on the trails as was the adult only lagoon spa (large hot tub). The BBQs at the activity center worked well and were clean, the mini golf was a fun extra. The ac and heat worked well. The bathroom was large and had a spacious bathtub.

The house sits on a hill and there are unobstructed views of the mountains on the opposite side. Sunset illuminates the mountains in red color. All rooms have large windows and allow awesome views of the red rocks. Even if you might be confined to the house you would have one of the best views in Sedona. There is a large master bedroom, a comfortable shower, and the heating works well. All rooms are very nicely decorated.
