Being in my second year of retirement my wife and I take anywhere from 3 to 5 day road trips every couple of months. Living in Southern California, South Lake Tahoe was a 3 day road Trip that was worth the cost and time well sent. There is plenty to see and do at different levels of cost to benefit every age. Locals' are friendly and helpful. The best way to enjoy South Lake Tahoe is to have no expectations when you visit, just let it surprise you because you'll never have enough time to enjoy it all? When you leave there on your trip home, you'll be thinking about your trip back to South Lake Tahoe???

My favorite side of the lake.
My favorite side of the lake. Lots of accommodation options, many different restaurants, and tons to do: ski, swim, kayak, bike, stand up paddleboard, and more. The casinos give a bit of kitchy entertainment or gambling for folks who like that.

South Lake Tahoe is very pretty with lots to do such as bike Rentals and lots of Places to rent Kayaks and SUP's and boats, even Horseback riding but for us it was much too crowded with lots of stopped Traffic especially as you get close to the Casinos. It is a fun place for kids and Adults but for Us we prefer Tahoe City and Incline Village as they are more Relaxing places and the focus is on nature and not nearly as much traffic or road construction

I love it! It was a great balance between nature, relaxation, and nice activities in the city like restaurants, walks, and more.
Love that it is on the state line to Nevada and going to the casinos for entertainment and restaurants (Not a gambler) was a nice activity to do during the nights.

Loved Lake Tahoe - crystal clear waters surrounded by mountains and pine forests in every direction. The weather was perfect in mid summer though the water temp was a bit on the cooler side. Absolutely fantastic location to visit.

We booked this last minute. Right close to down town South Lake Tahoe. Super convenient location.
Close to whole foods. Had a washer/dryer which was a god send. The bed was HUGE. A/C was cold (which after car camping was heavenly). Not to mention the staff were great. Easy check in and out process with texts. Never had such great communication and care with a property. Will stay here again! Thank you bluebird!
We had a fantastic time. The hotel offers great value for money and the next time I am back at South Lake Tahoe, I wouldn’t even do some much as look at other options.
