St. George Island is great for a peace and quiet getaway with beaches. There isn’t a ton of stuff to do there, limited shops and restaurants but what is there is pretty good. People are friendly and it can get crowded around holidays. If you don’t mind limited shopping and restaurants it’s great. Historic Apalachicola is just across the bridge.

    Small and quaint..

Small and quaint.. We were there when Hurricane Debbie was coming so we left early. We are breakfast at the Beach Pit that was a huge mistake, the owner needs to reevaluate that establishment or close it's horrible and expensive to eat horrible food and bad service. Loved the blue Patriot or server was amazing and the atmosphere was refreshing. Visited the local candy store next to the Inn and it has tons of choices.

St. George has one of the most beautiful beaches anywhere.

St. George has one of the most beautiful beaches anywhere. Eating at the Blue Parrot is a requirement. We had fried scallops and calamari, both lightly breaded and fried to perfection. Also, Paddy's Oyster bar has a wonderful selection of oysters and perfect redneck riviera ambience..

The east end where we stayed was not as crowded as the west.

The east end where we stayed was not as crowded as the west. We were there the week before Memorial Day and it was perfect! There are some great places to eat and if you want, you can cross the bridge and have more selections in Eastpoint or Appalachicola. You won't regret staying here!

Liked that it was quiet, and didn't have high rise buildings anywhere. Enjoyed the charm of going down to the Piggly wiggly to get our stuff, Thank goodness there isn't a main drag like Fort Walton or Panama City and isn't overdeveloped with T shirt shops. We're coming back. Restaurants are first rate. Beaches are pure white "barking" sands. If you want to decompress, this is the place.

We loved it!! Such a cute and quiet place when we visited. We biked everywhere. The beach was absolutely beautiful. Everyone was so friendly!! Historical light house, a state park added extra things to do! We kayaker and paddle boarded on the bay! So so much fun
