The hotel was in an excellent location and the room was extremely comfortable. Some motels feel decidedly tired and non interested but this place is a joy to spend time in. The room feels airy and the furnishings make you feel you’re in a higher star hotel. The staff could not have been friendlier. We asked them for several items and they were extremely helpful and went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. We stayed with two kids who were very happy to get Whoopie pies every day from reception.

Located in Strasburg, 9 miles from Intercourse, Strasburg Village Inn provides a restaurant and free WiFi. The location is excellent! We were there to visit Strasburg Railroad with the REAL steam engine and Day out with Thomas fir my train obsessed toddler. The location was perfect. There are a few restaurants within walking distance, the wonderful creamery that also serves sandwiches, etc. Great little stores, antiques, the railroad and museum of course, chop chop barn ( train model village), and cherry farm are less than 2 miles away. It was a great location for checking out other attractions like the samish village, smorgasbord, etc. We were told Dutch wonderland is also less than 10 min away. Great location for parents and children alike, so much to do! A must if you you have little engineers at home. The room itself was homey and clean and there was a perfect little gathering area complete with movies and board games! The Innkeeper was a sweetheart and we hope to return!

Breakfast is served across the street at an craft coffee /artisan food cafe, which was excellent The physical location of the Carriage house is perfect! A gem hidden with in all the beautiful brick homes! We highly recommend it
Great place to take the kids. There are experience based farms, where you can be a farmer apprentice, even learn how to milk a cow! We have a visit-in-person tour, where you get to visit an Amish family in their home, visit with a local Amish artisan (we visited a furniture maker) Of course there is the Strasburg Train, and train museums. the motel we stayed in, had vouchers for breakfast at the Speckled Hen and it was fabulous. A local favorite also. They source much of their foods locally, including Maplehofe chocolate milk. Your kids will want to take some home, it's that good (their dairy is just down the road in Quarryville, or get some at Lancaster's Central Market). There's also a nearby miniature golf at the Village Greens, playing under a canopy of trees, with streams and an abundance of flowers. Afterwards check out Down on the Farm Creamery! It's a new Amish opened in 2020 and includes a play area for the kids, goats, chickens, etc. It is literally on a farm, seems to be very popular in the evening from the local citizens. My favorite part, is that everyone, in every place we visited, were friendly helpful, outgoing and eager to have visitors back this summer.
We thoroughly enjoyed The Sight and Sound Theatre and the countryside in the area is lovely. We weren't there for a long time but would definitely like to come back to experience more of the area.
It was amazing so peaceful and historic. We went to sight and sound theater and seen the miracle of Christmas and it was awesome. Then next day we went on a train ride while eating brunch amazing too and the train museum is pretty cool. It country but very tranquil and a sight to see. I just wish i could have had the chance to visit more food places. Miller's was so packed i never got to visit there and everything closes early.
My stay in the Strasburg/Lancaster area was quite enjoyable from the shops to the great food and friendly people I could not have asked for a more relaxing enjoyable time. I would highly recommend this to anyone
Nice way to spend a weekend. So relaxing and different from the hectic bustle of larger places. Plenty to see, do, and experience. Good eating place-Dave and Steve's Fireside Tavern-good food with reasonable prices (recommend reservations for weekends as they do get crowded. Amish Farm and House Tour was educational for all ages. Sight and Sound Theater was worth the trip. Will return in the spring to take in some antiquing and visit other local sites.
