This is a yearly trip for us.

This is a yearly trip for us. Waynesville has great restaurants like The Sweet Onion and Bogart's. There are lots of shops to browse and buy beautiful things.....great furniture at Massey's and always enjoy the General Mast Store. There are festivals here regularly; those times would really be crowded in the already tight streets. Patience is a virtue for sure!!! Most magnificently, Waynesville is the gateway to the Smoky Mountains where there are thousands of opportunities for hiking, biking, rock climbing, hiking vast distances like Art Loeb Trail. And do make a visit to the Little Drummer Pottery heading towards Maggie Valley! Lake Junaluska is another wonderful place with a 2.7 mile hike around the late. It is a conference center, but all are welcome to hike, enjoy The Rose Walk, The cross at the top of the hill which is shining brightly is the most beautiful site. WE have met many lovely people in Waynesville and enjoyed the crafts and artwork of the area.

Waynesville is one of my favorite towns in the Appalachians.

Waynesville is one of my favorite towns in the Appalachians. It is what Gatlinburg should have become. Useful and interesting shops on the main strip, great food, craft beers, dog friendly locations, beautiful. The surrounding area is peaceful and lovely. The best kitchen store anywhere, a doggo bakery, Hazelwood Soaps, BlueRidge books and Mast General Store are musts on each visit. Lake Junaluska, the Southeastern Jurisdictional HQ of the United Methodist Church is just right there, and is important to us. Even if you are not religious, it is a peaceful and healing location. We love Haywood Smokehouse, The Beach Mountain Diner, Boojums, Church Street Depot, Kandis cakes and bake shop when we eat away. It is a wonderful place to be.

The people are super friendly and you are a short drive to Maggie Valley and up to the Blue ridge parkway and Smoky mountains. Not even an hour away there is tubing, waterfalls, swimming, hiking, everything you want for outdoors and leaving technology behind.

I loved staying at the Oak Hill Bed and Breakfast on Love Lane! It felt like a home away from home and the owner is a fantastic cook! The views from the inn were spectacular. Downtown Waynesville was a great stroll for morning and afternoon, full of unique businesses from arts to antiques to niche boutiques. We had a wonderful time searching for treasures at Spenceberry Antiques and having a hearty lunch at Watami. It's the perfect driving distance for a night out in Asheville!!

Love the downtown area - has a lot to offer. One of the best restaurants in the area is called Chef's Table. Let me save you some time on the menu and go ahead and order the deconstructed lasagna! Amazing!

John and Debbie are excellent hosts and their home is a wonderful place to stay with so much history. We loved Debbie's breakfast, there was plenty of choice including tasty treats, fresh fruit, different toasting options, coffee, tea and juice. Waynesville is a great location with plenty to do and see in the area, just off the Blue Ridge Parkway and close to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Charming and cosy. The owner has put a lot of love and effort into the property. Facilities are excellent right down to the smallest detail E.g laundry detergent and a Smores kit for the fire pit. Outside areas are beautiful. Fireflies, rocking chairs, log fire, BBQ. Lovely quiet setting - so much bird song. Great location for Waynesville, Lake Junaluska and a spring board for the Smokies.
