The Footbridge is a wonderful little place situated in a cute small town near the sea. We received a very friendly welcome Very friendly welcome, clean spacious room, and even included a basic kitchen setup. Good shower pressure and parking directly outside. Around town there are several cute little restaurants in a very short driving distance, and the beach is close by as well. Highly recommended!

Patrick is a great host! We had a wonderful stay in the Mariner room. Delicious homemade breakfast is served every morning. A good way to start the day while having a chat with the host and fellow travelers. Patrick is very knowledgeable about activities to do in the region. There is also an access to public beach at a walking distance (about 20 minutes). All in all, we recommend this guest house for your stay!

    Hotels/Inns/Resorts... the list goes on.. busy as expected.

    Hotels/Inns/Resorts... the list goes on.. busy as expected. Still, easy enough travelling up and down Wells, Ogunquit, York... 'the strip' has many stores, restaurants, and , of course, accommodations. The one complaint: I guess people don't eat on Mondays or Tuesdays... that, and breakfast specialties aren't a 'thing'. We did find food, and, of course, breakfast... but several 'suggested stops' open for the week on Wednesday (not helpful on a Tuesday). And, after travel, many of the places that were open, closed for the night at 7:00 pm or 8:00 pm... I get it, Tuesday is not a 'hot' night, but 'in season' dining AT 7:00 is not a rare thing - now maybe these places SERVED until 7-8:00 but I took that many places CLOSE then, and you can't 'storm the door' at that time, and expect service.

    I visit Wells this time every year.

    I visit Wells this time every year. Have stayed in multiple locations. I see the sights in Wells and Ogunquit because of the proximity. I also travel north for shopping in several antique or thrift shops, a manicure and pedicure in Kennebunk and a visit to the monastery. Wells is close enough for some day trips. I have found the people in Wells to be very friendly and have suggestions for places to visit. Wells is my go to place for a restful getaway.

    Lots of good restaurants-especially for seafood. Bull and Claw(closer to Kennebunk) always one of my favorites No issues with parking during this time frame but always an issue if you go in the summer

    We did not see very much of Wells or the neighboring towns.

    We did not see very much of Wells or the neighboring towns. We arrived late in the afternoon and left early the next morning. From what we could see it was a very nice little town and I would stay there again in the future.

    Nice little coastal town with lots of shops & antique stores...

    Nice little coastal town with lots of shops & antique stores. Next town is Ogunquit which is slightly bigger with some good restaurants, Ogunquit Playhouse & access to beaches. There’s a good walkway called The Marginal Way that goes along the shore.

    WE KNOW THE AREA WELL - WE CAMPED THERE FOR OVER 30 YEARS = WELLS BEACH RESORT NEAR THE MCDONALD AND ONE MILE RD. WE LOVED ALSO RENT AT SEA MIST RESORT BEING CLOSE TO MANY FACILITIES HAVING SOLD OUR TRAILER OVER SIX YEARS AGO.

    Location fantastic for both Wells and Ogunquit. Great host in Patrick who cooked fantastic breakfasts! Room was large with great shower and ac. Pool looked fantastic (unfortunately rained quite a bit when we were there so didn’t use) gardens were beautiful. Great easy parking and within walking distance to may restaurants

    Quite a basic hotel, but clean and comfortable beds and nice owners. The room had a microwave, fridge, coffee maker and a toaster. There is a supermarket across the road. A good place from which to explore the area, and excellent value for money.

    The location of Wells was great and in between areas we wanted to visit. We did not use the pool or yard games/picnic tables but nice for those with families as well as the full kitchen. The king bed was good as well as the shower.
