If you like waterfalls; I Recommend traveling to Cumberland State Park to see the Moonbow on a full moon. The Waterfall was Beautiful. Went back the next morning to get better shots. Also, visit Yahoo Falls, Amos Falls, and Dog Slaughter Falls. Another thing I recommend is, stop by the Gospel Barn. They have a treat for you every weekend on Saturday.
We enjoyed our stay, the room was very clean and nice. Loved the bathroom mirror light, plenty of space..... Your staff was pleasant as well. We didn't get to check out the pool or exercise room due to it being closed (covid 19) but I'm sure its nice as well. We will stay again on our next visit in town. Have a blessed day!
Earlier, I posted a "less than satisfactory" review about our stay on 3/31/19 at Super 8, Williamsburg, KY, owing to failure to provide the disability access King room as reserved, and guaranteed, well in advance of our arrival. We had to settle for a double-bed room up 2nd floor stairs instead of ground level access for disabled. Subsequently, management did fully apologize and offered a rebate on room charges, which was appreciated. While it did not change the original inconvenience, the extra effort by management to compensate was thoughtful and sincere. Anyone can make a mistake (I've made my share too); recognizing, apologizing and offering restitution goes a long way to restoring good feelings. I tried to edit and amend my earlier review, but couldn't find a way to do so. Thus, I am submitting this further comment, along with my Thanks to management.
We love this location .Every thing we look for is close to this location. The shopping is great and the food in the area is out of this world. We make a number of trips to North Carolina each year and this is always one of our planed stops. The hotel stall are all just great every time we have stayed there.I would highly rate my stay here as the one high lite of our trips. Thank you all for making us always feel welcome and we will see you guys soon.
We spent one afternoon here to see Cumberland Falls. The falls are beautiful and I’d love to come back and hike the trails. The facility was clean and the gift store staff could be overheard helping a customer whose car broke down. There were a lot of mosquitoes (early October) and we got a lot of bites which made the trip less enjoyable. We had a senior citizen with us who struggles with stairs, but with help she made it to the first lower overlook. The stairs were uneven and steep, so two of us helped her down and back up.
Out side of the nice campus that Cumberland College occupies, the town is not much. One block, one stop light and....a Rexall Drug Store (for real). About one third of the once quaint store fronts are vacant. The city hall and the county court house are nice and a short walk to the levy was interesting as the river was flooding at the time.
