This Travelodge in Ukiah, California features free Wi-Fi, an outdoor pool, and rooms with a microwave and refrigerator. Mendocino College is 1.6 miles from this hotel. The woman at the the desks was very nice and friendly. She handled my check in and out very quickly and professionally.
We just stayed the night.... (Sunday). Not many businesses open on Sunday. (Kinda refreshing knowing people still take time for themselves..that being said..). We found a Mexican Tanquira open and the food was amazing. The town seemed really nice. Great main street vibe and interesting store fronts.
The hotel isn’t maintained much. The carpet is old and extremely dirty, the bathroom has black mold spots all over the room. Mold has built cities in every corner. Toilet leaks, bath towels weren’t provided, dead lock on front door broken in pieces... you get the picture. Stuff was friendly, sheets were clean (I hope), big screen TV was in the room
Laird grew up in Willits so we were attending a reunion. Was great to see the old stomping grounds and beautiful surrounding areas. Overall just a great experience, with 4th of July parade, picnic, and rodeo to boot.
The location was great since it was near the people we were visiting. Roland Bistro, Mariposa Market, Rollin Dough bakery, Lumberjacks restaurant, Szechuan Asian Restaurant are all favorites in Willits.
Willits is NOT on the coast, so I don’t know why they’re showing that photo (it’s not mine). I’m sure Willits has other places to eat, but we always head for dinner at Peter’s Sushi and Chinese House. Try the Dragon Roll, it’s fabulous. Best place to stay is the Baechtel Creek Inn. Clean, quiet, outdoor pool & jacuzzi, full breakfast, spa, great staff. Worst place to stay is the Redwood Inn. It’s old, rundown, and needs new everything especially carpets & linens. Both my sheets had small stains that would have been hard to miss when making the bed. One of the skimpy bath towels was also stained. No phone or clock, WiFi didn’t work, and people who looked like permanent residents were hanging around outside their room(s), smoking & talking. Had to walk through a cloud of smoke to get to my car. Hardly an “inn” — more like a 50’s “motor hotel” (motel). And waaaaayy overpriced.
I'm a Willits fan. Cheapest gas I've found in Mendocino County. Mostly at the Safeway on the north end of town and Brown's at the south end. Using a debit rather than credit card will often save you ten cents a gallon. It can be very warm in the summer, if not sweltering hot, but the Super 8 air conditioning handles it easily. Willits is kind of a combination hippie/ redneck town and I always enjoy driving through if I don't stay overnight.
The owner is a lovely man and genuinely wanted me to be comfortable at his property. Location is great, and so convenient to park right outside the room. Awesome to have a big flat screen TV with heaps of tv channels after a long day out and about. Ice machine nearby is great too. Comfy bed and a bathroom with everything you need.
To far of a drive from Fort Bragg. Also we asked to NOT have the cleaning service and they went into our room and sorta cleaned it, but through away stuff we wanted. When we asked if we could have a different room with a better bed, it was definitely going to be a huge hassle. So we just stayed in the same room. Big mistake!
This was the cleanest hotel I have stayed in! The lobby was clean, the breakfast area was neat and clean, the breakfast plenty adequate, and our room also--linens, sink, shower and toilet area.
Very convenient location on Hwy 20. Easy walking distance to a variety of food choices. The front desk staff was very polite and welcoming. The bathroom had been up-graded and was very clean.
the hotel was very comfortable, the staff was very professional, and helpful, the breakfast at the local restaurant was excellent... with the cooperation with the hotel...well done
Only thing was that there was road work in front of the motel but that wasn't the motels fault. All the workers were gone by the time we left for dinner.
