I have visited Wilmington for the past 34 years. I am a life long resident on North Carolina and stumbled on Wilmington completely by accident while attending a conference in 1991 in Castle Hayne, I love riverfront cities like Charleston, Savannah, Mobile or even New Orleans for find the convenience of location to the beach and other amenities to be wonderful. The Wilmington area is a wonderful place to visit.
The Wilmington area is a wonderful place to visit. There is so much to see. The riverwalk is a great place to visit. There is so much history here. Wilmington is close to some of the nicest beaches on the east coast. I can't imagine anyone not enjoying a visit. The downtown is nice with many bars, restaurants and live music. The weather is hot and humid but Wrightsville Beach, about 20 minutes away, is very nice. I even saw the breakfast attendant washing the walls! The breakfast itself put many restaurants to shame and I am a chef, so I would know! Lol There seems to be strong leadership in place, which results in great attention-to-detail in all the staff. Front desk was kind and attentive to my needs. Also, I lost my cpap machine while at the hotel, but they found it and were able to ship it back to my home 3 hours away.
