Booking .com sold the room to me $246, one night. Got check out bill for $323. Was never informed of self parking charges by booking.com, $77 extra charges in taxes and parking.Good old American Greed. Bottle of water in room, $6 if used. Be careful.
Woodland Hills is a lovely area near LA. It'll take roughly 25-45 minutes depending on traffic to reach most destinations around the property, but the trade-off is the nice, quiet neighborhood you're in. Located near a lot of wealthy communities, makes the stores, coffee shops and amenities around the house upscale, which is also nice.
There’s nothing I could post here that would be a complement to this hotel. In fact it’s really not the hotel it’s the people running it they should be ashamed of themselves for the way they treat their guess they talk down to them like they’re asking for the world and they don’t even give you a bottle of water when you go down the next day to bring back up to your room. It was 105° outside and it was still hard to get anything out of the management or the clerks to get into the room they want everything to go to their Restaurant. There’s no microwave in the room, there’s no real refrigerators in the room when you’re staying at all it’s just a little cooling box they have and you could probably put about three sodas in a couple of waters certainly not anything fatter or larger you cannot store leftovers at all from a restaurant stay. Very and accommodating the bed was probably the best part the rooms are very small, it’s better to stay in Las Vegas than this location
I booked two nights and was charged for two nights and I only stayed one night. When I arrived the lady at the check-in said the area was experiencing an electrical blackout. No power for blocks. She wasn't able to check me in because of that issue. I had to rent another room for more than what I had reserved this room. I want a refund for the night I did not stay there, for no fault of mine or the 818 Hotel. My phone number is 805 709 3868
I was there for a life celebration for my deceased wife and really didn't have the inclination to run around town on this trip. However having lived Woodland Hills for over 40 years I can say that Woodland Hills is probably one of the nicest areas in Los Angeles. Not overcrowded and central to a lot of tourist attractions such as Disney land, the coastline and Ronald Reagan museum.
The breakfast was always fresh. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The rooms were bigger than expected. The hotel location was wonderful close to restaurants and the mall. The only recommendation I would have if they send you a upgrade package, call the hotel to confirm. I was able to upgrade my room at the hotel but not my mothers.
I was not happy that the person who checked me in forgot to tell me that you must swipe your room key in the elevator to go to your floor. As a result I was stuck in the elevator and freaked out until the door finally opened and I realized I had to swipe the key. This is very important to tell hotel guests Prior to them using the elevator.
Always check for bedbugs at every hotel. You DO NOT want them traveling with you back home!
The rooms were nice. The others guests were nice. The hotel and rooms were very clean.
