The breakfast was very good.
There were TWO personable employees at the Inn. ONE was the young man who checked me in on SUNDAY EVENING
JULY 28. The second person was the young lady who was in charge of the breakfast buffet for JULY 29, 30, AND AUGUST
2ND.

Woodstock is fantastic town, very pretty (especially in the fall) with some lovely shops and great cafe/restaurants.
Recommendations:
The Shire is a great place to stay for exploring Woodstock.
Dr Coburn’s Tonic was very good for local beer and food.
The sandwiches from the Village Butcher Shop are fantastic.
Just outside Woodstock is Abracadabra Coffee Shop, great coffee and Donuts, in a lovely old building.

Woodstock is a cute little town, and I fell in love instantly. They are very dog friendly which to me was a huge plus. Mont Vert Cafe was the place to be, and was super crowded but very (as they say on their open/closed sign) awesome!!
I went in for a bottle of water, and came out with that and a chocolate chip brownie, which was to die for! Will definitely visit again.
Sadly, I didn't have a lot of time to explore, because I had to get on the road to get home, but I did make it a point to visit The Yankee Bookshop, which is a must see. It hade a "book" theme, meaning they sold novelties such as bookmarks that looked like an old library "due date" card. Younger gens may not get this, but us older folks will love it. :) In summary, it was a lot of fun to walk through.

Woodstock Inn has a lovely ambiance, great staff and the rooms are beautiful. You must make reservations for the hotel restaurants before you get there, even thought you cannot dine there if you are not staying at the Inn. I would ask if there is a wedding going on because the music is loud and impossible to get away from. It only went on until 10:00pm on Saturday but downtown closes at 6:00pm and there was no way to get away from the very loud music.

What I've always heard about Woodstock VT turned out to be true. It really is an outstandingly charming village. Picture perfect architecture, super dog-friendly, original art and craft shops and soothing, green commons amongst the hilly green backdrop of VT, kept me intoxicated for three days. I will return with my own art supplies after feeling inspired by other creatives, for a week of blissful enchantment. The most refreshing thing about Woodstock (and most of VT) was the lack of big box commercialism. One must also keep in mind that Woodstock is heavily funded by old wealth, which can afford to pay for upkeep of charm.

Woodstock has a lovely green with stately homes and buildings around it, plus shops and a covered bridge. Crowded during foliage season so visit another time to enjoy it. Mondays and Tuesdays most restaurants are closed. Try nearby Queeche for meals those days. Be sure to visit the Billings Farm and Museum. Take a tour of the Mansion and learn the history of the area.

Woodstock is a regular stop for us.
Woodstock is a regular stop for us. Beautiful town, very walkable but beware of lack of restaurants and restaurant closings. Many are closed two to three days a week and many close early. Plan uour meals! Otherwise always something happening in town. Billings farm and museum is great. VINS nature center, hiking Mt. Tom and Mt. Peg, skiing Saskadena Six and wandering through the boutiques and art galleries, great fun.
What a find! This well appointed Inn was more than we expected. Beautifully decorated with great rooms, it made our visit to Woodstock even more enjoyable. It is located along the main road to Woodstock center and close to all that the village has to offer. We had the opportunity to visit the tavern for a short time, but enjoyed the music and were immediately accepted by the locals. Heather was extremely helpful and the breakfasts were delicious. Highly recommend a stay at The Village Inn of Woodstock
We had a wonderful stay in Woodstock with Cynthia and John. They have a gorgeous home with plenty of windows offering wonderful views of the countryside, only a short drive from the heart of Woodstock. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and sharing the bathroom with the other tenants was totally doable. A simple breakfast was served every morning which was an easy, nice way to start the day. If you're looking for cozy, affordable accommodation in one of America's prettiest towns, this is the place.
506 River Inn is located in the quiet area of Woodstock. My room was quiet, reasonably sized with lovely views. The food was excellent, not too complex but tasted wonderful. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I'd most certainly come back.
The Shire did not disappoint, fantastic hotel in a great location. The hotel is very welcoming and the staff were very friendly. The room was spacious and well equipped, with a lovely view.
The location of the hotel was beautiful. The facilities and rooms were also great. We ate in the restaurant on our second night and the food was lovely and staff both friendly and helpful.
