This is a place for people who know how to relax and get comfortable quickly with others. The place is cute, clean, comfortable and fully of whimsey. El Bambu is set in a semi rural area surrounding a pretty, very green and lush garden. It's an oasis of tranquility. There is a very small pool great for cooling off on hot summer days. The two resident dogs are friendly and full of personality and will give you just the right amount of attention. We thoroughly enjoyed our two stays (the beginning of our trip and the end of the trip about 5 week laters). Best of all is the attention of the two owners, Omar and Adriana. More delightful and pleasant people you will not meet. Fun, vivacious and charismatic they quickly can become friends. All is done at El Bambu in fairly close quarters, being that there are only 4 rooms arranged around the gardens. The common outside areas are seductive and inviting. It is easy to just spend the day here without going out if you really want to rest and soak up the ambiance. My wife and I were children of the 1960's and 70's and the feelings we got at El Bambu and with Omar and his wife Adiana took us back to the best of those days. When we left to head back to the U.S. parting with Omar and Adriana was bitter sweet. We were leaving friends and going far away. We recommend El Bambu, and we recommend Omar and Adriana. William & Cynthia de Prado Mill Valley, CA. USA A couple of notes: If you are looking for modernity and swank this is not your place. Also it's a great spot for a couple of day rest before flying out. The airport is close -- 15 or so minutes away.
