Literally everything. Very comfortable, no level of assistance was too much for Emma and the staff and their proactivity in being willing to book tours (in my case the Ha Giang loop) even before I arrived. Great location, right near the Hoan Kiem Lake as well.

Overall, the experience was a 10/10. The staff were extremely friendly, helpful, and attentive. They went above and beyond by gifting us a voucher for the bar and even allowing us to use a room to shower before heading to the airport — a truly thoughtful gesture. The room itself was beautiful and comfortable. We enjoyed every detail and felt right at home. The facilities were excellent. The pool offered stunning views and a cozy atmosphere. The restaurant was also a highlight — both dinner and breakfast were delicious and perfectly prepared. And the underground bar is a must if you enjoy live music; we caught a performance there and absolutely loved it. To summarize, we had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend this place. We would definitely come back.

The location of the hotel was fantastic, it’s near the Old Quarter. Right near a lot of great eating spots, beer street (if you're interested in that night life), street market and a short stroll to the lake. The staff were friendly and the room was very nice for the price. Breakfast was ok.

I was never so well received in a hotel, I arrived earlier in Hanoi and they not only kept our bags there until the room was ready, but gave us complimentary cake and juice and even allowed for a much earlier check-in. The staff is amazing, I don't come from a tipping culture but I just had to tip them for all they done. Room was nice, big and comfortable, if I return to Hanoi this is where I'm staying.

Hanoi was good however you only needed a few days there. Motor Bikes and Scooters took Ove all footpaths so you have to walk on the road all the time. Shopping was all you could ask for no matter what you wanted. Food if you ate where there were hundreds of locals you alway got variety Vietmese food and fantastic prices. We took a guided tour covering many places, however when we got on the bus the guide said oh no we are not going to all those places. We showed them the itinerary we booked and paid for but to no avail.Wwe walked off the tour 23 way through disgusted. We have reviewed this separately about the company

Hanoi is a lively and charming city with so much history and culture to explore. The Old Quarter is beautiful with its small streets, cafés, and local shops, and the street food is amazing if you know where to go. That said, traffic can be busy and a bit noisy, and some touristy areas charge way more for common dishes like pho or banh mi. If you’re traveling with friends and want reasonably priced food, it’s best to ask locals — or even better, the hotel reception — they’ll point you to good spots nearby. Don’t miss trying some of the local cafés; sitting in one of them and enjoying a coffee is a true Hanoi experience. Walking is fun in the Old Quarter, but be careful crossing streets, and consider using a Grab bike or taxi for longer distances. Shopping at local markets can be affordable, but always check prices before buying

Hanoi is a lively city with busy streets, but not as crazy as Saigon. The Old Quarter is beautiful, but my advice is to avoid touristy spots serving common dishes like pho or banh mi — they can be ridiculously expensive. Traffic can be hectic, so it's best to ask the hotel reception for tips; they’ll help you get around. If you have friends living here, they can take you to great local spots. Or just chat with the hotel reception — they’ll definitely help you. But if you’re just here to spend money and experience the city as a tourist, then forget everything I just said! :))) Overall, the city is full of charm, history, and great hidden spots if you know where to look.

We started our Vietnam adventure in Hanoi for 3 nights and full days. We did a walking food tour in the old quarter, took the hop on hop off bus tour and explored. Visited the local markets, train alley and walked the lake people watching. Ate some pretty interesting food, frogs legs to sand worms. Was a good way to hit the ground in a not too busy part of Vietnam. The bus was a great way to see the outer areas and many touristy things to visit along the way. We stopped at a temple, be aware you hire the sarongs from the ladies out the front to cover your legs when entering. The jail was an interesting stop with loads of French invasion and terror. Reminds you how crap humans are to one another.

I think Train Street is the must-visit spot, and I was here...

I think Train Street is the must-visit spot, and I was here just for that. If you love street food, roaming in city areas, shopping, and souvenirs, and wish to stick to the city, then Hanoi is just a good option. The good part of people here is that they are attentive but not so friendly (particularly, I found them reluctant to speak and befriend tourists, and I am sure that was not due to just the language barrier; hardly anyone would speak English, and the rest of them just don't want to communicate with you if you don't speak Vietnamese or buy something from them). Before coming here, I'd visited Ho Chi Minh City, and I just love that city, and people were extremely polite and friendly. The food they served in Ho Chi Minh was excellent, while in Hanoi is just like 'eat and leave now' kind of place. I really don't want to criticise or want to insult anyone, but I am just sharing my comparative analysis of two different cities. Further, due to a typhoon that entered Hanoi three days after I arrived in Hanoi, I had to travel to another beautiful place, Sapa, and that was one of my best experiences as a solo traveller. The food, people, environment, and facilities – everything in Sapa was just perfect there. So I would recommend anyone visiting Vietnam spend fewer days in Hanoi (which is a bit costly and not so tourist friendly) and go to either the north, i.e., Sapa, or the south, i.e., Ho Chi Minh City or any other city (if you have more time) and spend at least 10 to 15 days exploring beautiful Vietnamese landscapes and culture. I just love Vietnam, and I would love to visit it again and again.

I work as Reservation Manager at a 5 star resort in Bali and as a hotelier itself I could say that this place is truly exceptional. If you have never been to Vietnam yet, it would be best for you to come here first as the owner will happily give you a lot of helpful information and recommendations, also the transportation rate that he offers is cheaper than online transport there. The location is great as you can reach many popular places by walk, just ask the owner for directions and some 'hidden gems' as well in the Old Quarter.

Hotel is very comfortable (especialy beds), breakfast is very good with very large posibility of choice of food, view of the city is exceptional from breakfast room. Staff was very friendly and helpful and location of hotel is perfect - just in the middle of old quarter. This hotel was the best hotel we stayed in Vietnam.

It was our right choice to stay at the Sono on our first trip in Hanoi. The hotel is in a fantastic location, offering the best of the Old Quarter on your doorstep. We could walk everywhere. The staff went above and beyond to make your stay as enjoyable and as stress free as possible. We booked our day trip to Halong bay and Ninh Binh through the hotel. Both were fantastic and definitely recommend to everyone.

It’s a new hotel, the staff is putting a lot of effort on making the experience as nice as possible which we appreciated immensely. The location is perfect, in a beautiful street right in between the old quarter and French quarter. While there are some things to improve finalise, I would recommend it if you are spending a couple of days in Hanoi.
