Travel to Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) before you travel to Hanoi! So travel South to North. If not you might be disappointed as you'll be heading from scenic green mountains and landscapes, to a bustling crowded City and lots of noise. Depends what you prefer. Saigon has great street food, and neon nightlife. Good party atmosphere, if that's your thing. But Hanoi has more charm and life there seems a little slower paced.

Three maybe four days is ideal. Time to view the sights, go to Cu Chi tunnels and museum [both a must do], do a street food tour, visit a few roof top bars, find a few secret bars, eat at a couple of good restaurants as well as a few small street foodie places, go find a coffee corner and check out the markets, there are a few. Use GRAB to get around or just walk.

I absolutely hated it.
I absolutely hated it. Traffic is horrendous and people were extremely rude. All they see when they look at the white person is 💰 🤑. Tney don't care about anything else. Go up North instead, much better! The airport was so busy it's ridiculous. Never again.
