Offering a barbecue and a private beach area, Tanna Evergreen Resort & Tours is located on Tanna Island. Really close to the volcano you can hear and see from your window. The tree house is amazing. Mike has been welcoming and helping His Dad who drove us from/back the city was so genuinely nice. If I am back in Tanna, I will come back there and spend more than 1 night!
Located at Ipak Bay, North Tanna, Rockwater Resort features a private beach and landscaped gardens. Return airport transfers are included upon request from the property. The reef is phenomenal. Best we found in Vanuatu. The place , built into the coral cliffs is unique, and fun. Rooms are beautiful modern and interesting,
Set in White Sands, Castle Tree House features a garden. Featuring a 24-hour front desk, this property also welcomes guests with a restaurant and a terrace. Stunning view on the volcano and over the valley, very good atmosphere and peaceful place. Mike and his family warmly welcomed us and cared about our well being. Excellent dinners cooked by Lena !
Obviously people go there for the volcano. And so did we. It was a magnificent experience. Makes one feel very small next to a rumbling crater full of lava. Tana island itself is beautiful and has many other sights to see. Just be mindful of the cost to get around.
Tanna island is amazing, we spent 4 days on the islaned. We stayed at yakul kustom village wirh Denna Charley and his village for 1 night. We experienced a kustom dance, kava drinking, basket weaving, waterfall which was amazing. Then we walked across the island from West to East and stayed at the Volcano island paradise bungalow. 15min drive to hot springs and ocean. Morris ans suzie were great hosts.
We were only on Tanna for two days and saw mount Yasur and all it's glory as well as the Blue Cave. Both were absolutely stunning and experiences we will not forget anytime soon. Unfortunately there was not much time to see the island properly. But I would definitely return to do it properly.
Yasur volcano amazing. The food at the bungalow was fantastic home cooked meals. Hosts provide transfers from airport and to sights for you otherwise is difficult. Great natural island with plenty to do, a bit costly for a lot of the tours compared to Efate. A great experience.
The entire tourism industry focuses on the visit to the "Yasur Volcano", and everything revolves around this visit. There are many more things to visit. One recommendation, the “Port Resolution Tour", is an interesting opportunity to know the steps of Captain Cook, but as it is mounted, it is a scam, and the guides lack any training, they must be required to comply with the program, His idea is to pass the time to get to the volcano s afternoon pass. Fake tour
What a fabulous place to spend a week. Lots of unique experiences to be had. Mt Yasur was special, we spent three nights listening to it rumble and roar. The most relaxed and hospitable people, very envious of their lifestyle and close community ties. Beautiful beaches, great snorkeling, loved swimming with the turtles. Really memorable. It takes a long time to get across the island to different places but if you can sit back and join in the chilled out vibe of this place, it is well worth it. My teenage boys have come away with a new appreciation of the important things in life by being immersed in the fabulous culture of Tanna.
