FAQs about hotels in Cape Town

Cool, Colorful Cape

Between mountains and beaches, the 2nd largest city in South Africa mixes history, resilient modernity, and a typical laidback African character. From the top of Table Mountain to the colourful Bo Kaap quarter, and from the Victoria & Albert Waterfront to the modern business district, Cape Town blends multicultural influences and beautiful nature.

Known as Kaapstad in Afrikaans, its sunny weather and mild temperatures make it a perfect place to enjoy the large number of beaches that surround it. From Sunset Beach to Hout Bay, and from Simon’s Town to Gordon Bay, this city offers variety that suits all tastes. Whale and dolphin watching is a popular activity in False Bay.

Located on the Cape of Good Hope, the city was founded in 1652 by a Dutch trading company as a way-station for ships travelling to the East Indies. With the settlement process, all sorts of foreign plants were introduced, including the grapes in the famous Cape Winelands District, just outside of Cape Town.

Cape Town’s history does have some darker periods, and some of its memorable places from this time deserve to be visited: Robben Island jail, the City Hall from which Nelson Mandela gave his first public speech, and the statues of the 4 South African Nobel Peace Prize winners on the V&A Waterfront.

Cape Town is an absolutely stunning city.

Cape Town is an absolutely stunning city. During our time, we crammed in so many adventures. We went up Table Mountain via cable cars, hiked Lion's Head, had sun-downers at Camps Bay, did the Cape Peninsula road trip (including a visit to Boulder's Beach), ate at amazing restaurants, visited Stellenbosch on a tour, did a safari and visited the V&A waterfront. Probably the best holiday we've had in a long time!

It's beautiful, the restaurants are amazing, fresh food, views are out of this world and the wine is amazing. Make sure to give yourself enough time to enjoy your activities and tours, the days felt short. Choose the right time of the year the weather wasn't great for me (September). Otherwise overall I might just move there 😁😉

Whether the sun is shining or the rain makes an appearance, there is always a way to enjoy the day. Explore with curiosity, take it all in, and let the city reveal itself to you. It is a beautiful city, well maintained, a variety of excursions to do which I love. It is an expensive city, even for SA citizens. It feels like a foreign country now, I did not feel as safe as I used to. This was probably my fourth and final visit to the city.

CT is a world class city and has so much to offer to the visitor. You need at least 2 weeks to cover the most attractive locations. The city is safe and amenities excellent. The beaches are clean and inviting. The local hot spots are Table Mountain, V and A waterfront with a host of activities and shopping, Robben Island, the Vineyards, Kirstenbosch gardens, The Dutch castle, and Whale watching in Hermanus, The Namaqualand Daisies in full bloom in September is a true great spectacle of nature. So much more.........

The location really is excellent for exploring the waterfront, for getting to the centre of Cape Town and the views of Table Mountain from our window couldn't have been beaten. The room was clean, quiet but I think most of all, we enjoyed the warm, welcoming 'vibe' at this hotel. The staff are young, 'on it', lively, keen to help and hand in hand with the location, that made our stay even better than we'd expected.

The pictures won't even do its justice. By far the most beautiful hotel we've ever stayed at. Very well managed, incredibly clean and stunning interior design. The view from the pool is astonishing and we had the most relaxed days with incredible weather. Hands on and very friendly manager plus team. By far on of the most beautiful hotels in Cape Town :-)

Great location for Waterfront - easy 10min walk. Decent value vs other hotels etc in same/similar location. Really secure. More than ample space for family 2 adults, 2 kids. 2 bedroom, 2 bathrooms plus all the stuff you'd expect from a furnished apartment. Check in & check out super efficient! Great base to explore Cape Town from.

Breakfast was good! Family room was nice and spacious, friendly staff, hotel was clean and nice location at the middle of CBD. Had travelled out of the Cape Town for few days (Garden Route); the hotel let my luggage stay in their store room with no extra charge. Easy access to Taxi, Uber etc.
