FAQs about hotels in Cape Town

Cool, Colorful Cape

Between mountains and beaches, the 2nd largest city in South Africa mixes history, resilient modernity, and a typical laidback African character. From the top of Table Mountain to the colourful Bo Kaap quarter, and from the Victoria & Albert Waterfront to the modern business district, Cape Town blends multicultural influences and beautiful nature.

Known as Kaapstad in Afrikaans, its sunny weather and mild temperatures make it a perfect place to enjoy the large number of beaches that surround it. From Sunset Beach to Hout Bay, and from Simon’s Town to Gordon Bay, this city offers variety that suits all tastes. Whale and dolphin watching is a popular activity in False Bay.

Located on the Cape of Good Hope, the city was founded in 1652 by a Dutch trading company as a way-station for ships travelling to the East Indies. With the settlement process, all sorts of foreign plants were introduced, including the grapes in the famous Cape Winelands District, just outside of Cape Town.

Cape Town’s history does have some darker periods, and some of its memorable places from this time deserve to be visited: Robben Island jail, the City Hall from which Nelson Mandela gave his first public speech, and the statues of the 4 South African Nobel Peace Prize winners on the V&A Waterfront.

The waterfront is a great location to be based.

The waterfront is a great location to be based. Visit the penguins and Cape Point are worth it. You have to do Robben Island because of the history but they could do it so much better. Bit underwhelming really. Got to do Table mountain but really would recommend fast track as we waited 3 hours to go up after being told it was one and a half! If you’ve got a car signal hill is worth the drive.

Cape Town is a very nice and clean city, easy to move around though you can get stuck in traffic during peak hours. The V&A Waterfront is always a great place to hang around with so much to see and do. The highlight for us and especially my 3-year old grand daughter and 8-year old niece was the visit to the Aquarium, it was the most amazing experience and of course the boat ride on the waterfront.

Cape Town is an absolutely stunning city.

Cape Town is an absolutely stunning city. During our time, we crammed in so many adventures. We went up Table Mountain via cable cars, hiked Lion's Head, had sun-downers at Camps Bay, did the Cape Peninsula road trip (including a visit to Boulder's Beach), ate at amazing restaurants, visited Stellenbosch on a tour, did a safari and visited the V&A waterfront. Probably the best holiday we've had in a long time!

It's beautiful, the restaurants are amazing, fresh food, views are out of this world and the wine is amazing. Make sure to give yourself enough time to enjoy your activities and tours, the days felt short. Choose the right time of the year the weather wasn't great for me (September). Otherwise overall I might just move there 😁😉

The apart-hotel is in a great location and is in close proximity to many attractions within Cape Town (e.g. the V&A Waterfront, the Table Mountain Cable car, Camps Bay, etc.) We had 3 apartments in total, all with somewhat different styling, which we liked. The rooms are furnished quite nicely, and the beds were comfortable. The facial recognition for building access was very cool and worked very well. The pool is lovely, with braai stands also on the rooftop, finishing up with some spectacular views.

Very clean apartments...found new items that are trendy and unique. Mauline, the owner, was super friendly and great sense of humour. She helped us book her apartments a second time when almost all hotels in Cape Town were fully booked...really grateful for this gesture. Great wifi signal and smart TV allowed us to watch our local channels from back home in Zambia 😊

The hotel was in a good location. It was near many attractions. Also, it was very secure with controlled access to the rooms. The bed was also very comfortable and it was a high rise building with a good view of Cape Town. I was on the 16th floor and had views up to V&A Waterfront and the ocean.
