The cottage is perfect for a short or long stay. There is a large back patio with built-in braai, protected from the water and a front stoep to soak in the beautiful views. The bathrooms are really spacious with large walk in showers. The kitchen is well equipped and the beds are very comfortable. It is a very quaint and tranquil little town bout 30 km from Oudtshoorn in the Western Cape. There is an ample amount of restaurants and wine shops and a few souvenir shops. Spending a full day to experience the real charm of the little village. De Rust is a small rustic town ideal for an overnight stop enroute somewhere else. Everything is within walking distance. The town is spotlessly clean, people are very friendly and helpful. It is surrounded by magnificent mountains and very close to the must see Meirings Poort. A small town surrounded by the great outdoors. Close to Meiringspoort and the waterfall. A great stopover for coffee or a meal or to get well basic necessities if you stay in the area. The property is situated in a very scenic, secluded part of the Meiringspoort which is close to the town De Rust. The house which we stayed in was spotlessly clean, well equipped and very comfortable. Whilst there is limited cellphone coverage in the area, the property has a strong Wi-Fi network . Had a great evening chatting in the pub with other guests and locals. It's fantastic that after 30 years of being closed, the owners are reviving the hotel which I'm sure will go from strength to strength.
