Well what can I say Andrew and the team were amazing, the place is a oasis of tranquility (be aware of this if that is not your thing but we loved it) the gardens are beautiful, the rooms stunning, it was like a place out of magazine one of those rare occasions where the photos stunning as they are don't actually do the place justice. What ease can I say, oh yes, I remember we liked it so much we stayed there twice and would definitely stay there again :) Big thanks to Andrew and the team from Sam and John

The service and the people attending to us as guests makes all the difference in a property. Without a well trained and dedicated, happy to serve staff, the most beautiful property can be a bad place to stay. So, our experience was completely complemented by the very lovely staff. The propert is beautiful and the restaurant wonderful. There is only one consideration that I as a woman and an architectural designer could suggest is that the bathroom lighting needs to be improved. Not good for make up application and pampering!

    Wonderful hotel with a great restaurant in a fun, safe area of Johannesburg. It is right on the border of a hopping, upscale mall with great food and fun shops. Extremely safe area. Staff was always helpful and genuinely wanted to be in the hospitality field. Can't recommend this hotel highly enough.

    I really enjoyed shopping.

    I really enjoyed shopping. The malls are great and with a variety of outlets, offering many varied shopping options. I also enjoyed fine dinning. Excellent cuisine in Johannesburg. Many different types of restaurants offering all types of cuisines to meet global expectations from global citizens. The Mall of Africa, Sandton City, Gold Reef. The list is endless! Car hires easily accessible at reasonable prices, Uber and Bolt provide other options for easily moving around and about.

    I lived in Johannesburg many years ago (left in 1999), for...

    I lived in Johannesburg many years ago (left in 1999), for 21 years - and loved it. However I had not been back. I was very apprehensive as one hears many horror stories. I was pleasantly surprised. I found everyone polite, no aggression. I drove around at night, on my own....felt quite safe. I took a couple of Ubers and they were good. A few potholes, some lines in the roads missing, but the Joburg drivers use their indicators ....all in all a good experience, I never felt threatened or uncomfortable. I flew in at Lanseria airport and stayed in Sandon, visited, Fourways, Northcliffe and Mayfair....Mayfair was a bit downgraded!

    We had a wonderful time in Johannesburg.

    We had a wonderful time in Johannesburg. We managed to go to some amazing Animal Sanctuaries (as we don't do zoos), such as the monkey and elephant sanctuary. Definitely recommend going there! Getting around was cheap as we used Ubers. We never had to wait long for one. We went on some trips further out of Johannesburg (eg. Qwabi game reserve- AMAZING!!) but hired a bus and a van to do so on those occasions. One such place we went to was Lesedi village. We had been years before and wanted to make sure to go again this time. The arts and crafts for sale are amazing and so much cheaper than buying them from the shops in the Mall or the airport. The money also goes straight to the crafters. Another amazing find was Rosebank Arts and Crafts Market. I wanted to buy so many things but couldn't. The prices there are about 1/3 of the airport price. It's also amazing to be able to speak to all the amazing makers. Shout out to Jasper at the market! We would definitely recommend going on at least one game drive. (Please do some research on the ethics of any that you decide on). We stayed at Letamo (family friendly lodge) at Qwabi Game Reserve. The lodge was amazing and the staff too. The game rangers were phenomenal! If vegan- then Woolworths has a pretty good selection for vegans. We loved our trip so much and were sad to leave.

    Right next to the Gautrain station in Rosebank, so super easy to travel to and from the airport. Warm reception when I checked in - I was allowed an early check-in, which made my trip more comfortable (didn't have to sit in some random coffee shop to get work done, great desk in the room). Hotel staff also assisted me with emergency printing. Great breakfast spread and Johannesburg skyline views from the room.
