We stayed one night between two flights. Beautiful and spacious property, super nice staff which assisted us with transport from the airport and back to the airport the next day. The Light breakfast which included muesli with fresh fruits and coffee was great. We couldn’t ask for a better welcome in South Africa.

I like most the convenience to the airport. The breakfast and the service at breakfast time was very good and I liked the air conditioning. I didn’t like the service at dinner time. It felt disorganized - the tables weren’t cleaned. I was seated at a used table. It took along time to get our orders. I didn’t like the outdatedness of the hotel room decor. There also was no hairdryer.

I loved the Food Court at Emperor's Palace! We did not have much time to visit places beyond Emperor's Palace. I had the Greek take away first day, and Nandos on the second day - all cooked to perfection!

The check-in staff are well representative of a business establishment that is operating in the modern global world. The ancillary staff on the other hand (not all of them though, to be fair), need to trained on how to be sensitive towards people from diverse walks of life. In 2023, we still can't be dealing with people who make a public spectacle out of queer people or queer couples. I would appreciate if management can get hold of me so that I can detail the unpleasan incident that we went through on the 28th of September.

There was a friendly receptionist I forgot to note her name .But it was the lady at the desk with short hair. She was so friendly and made us that we were more than welcome.The shower in my room was difficult to operate The water would be too hot and on trying to adjust would suddenly get so cold. Otherwise everything else was perfect. The driver to the airport was friendly so was the driver George who initially picked me from the airport . The food was excellently good so was the breakfast . I will definitely stay at the Dove's Nest in my next visit to South Africa The experience was awesome

Shuttle transfer is on time and quite convenient. However, I found my room open and without bathroom towels. There was a broken pipe in the bath tub and I had to use shower. The option of a bath tub and shower is very good. The room was smart and WiFi working well. There should be congruence of information between Booking. Com and that of the hotel to reduce confusion on available facilities, for instance I opted for breakfast and paid for it but I was denied, citing an error from Booking.Com. There was no available effective contact details for Booking. Com to rectify the the anormally. This was just frustrating and smacking of an online scam, it was a bad experience indeed.

Staff are friendly. The breakfast buffet is great. Love the fact that cappuccinos, hot chocolate etc is free at breakfast and not billed like the other Southern Sun hotel in the area. Rooms are decent and one can see that an attempt at modernising was made. The staff look generally very happy, from the porters to the reception staff to the restaurant staff. Everyone was smiling and friendly which is very refreshing. This will be my hotel of choice again when connecting through OR Tambo.

The Protea Hotel is a short shuttle ride from the Johannesburg Airport (every 30 minutes). It recently completed an upgrade. Staff could not have been friendlier, as I spent 7 nights due to the recent Covid-Stain. They knew my name and treated me as family. The breakfasts covered every range on breakfast food you could want. Both lunch and dinners were extremely tasty with generous portions all served with a warm and personal touch.

The hotel is quote different from the other hotels near the airport. It is in a garden and you do not feel to be near the airport. Of course the sound of the airplanes can be heard. The cottage we stayed in was very spacious. The staff is super nice. Breakfast and dinner are good. Dinner is a fixed menu with a very good price. The hotel helped us in organizeing a beatiful tour in Soweto.
