Small town hospitality, make sure to visit the Grand Hotel on Barry street. You might not be able to get out of there on time as it always turns into a celebration of some sorts. Sean and his wife made the visit to the bar an experience on its own and their friendlyness and good food will keep you longer than you expected!
The original residential area of Robertson is lovely and easy to walk around the. The main road has many useful and boutique type shops and places for lunch. But the it is somewhat spoilt by the number and size of trucks passing through. Robertson is a good base for visiting the surrounding towns, vineyards and Owl's Rest.
We went on a wine tour on one of the hottest days! We spent some time at each wine farm in the air-conditioned cellars which was a bonus. Purchased plenty of well priced quality wines. Unforgettable the river boat was not working.
Lovely little town ... perfect base to explore sport activities like Golf, Tennis, Horse Riding, Canoeing, Swimming, Fishing and Hiking as well as Wineries for Brandy-, Gin- and Wine Tastings! Montagu and McGregor are gems to explore... usually Saturday markets in all villages where home-made specialties, art & craft is sold.
The Tent was Extremely Comfortable. We were very Relaxed Sitting on the Deck looking out to the Mountains with a Fire going at the Braai Area. The Kids had a good time in the Pool and Playing ball on the Green Grass. The Scenery is Amazing!!!
It was a really lovely experience. We had a wedding midday on the Saturday, therefore couldn't really explore. On Sunday, most things were closed, therefore wasn't able to enjoy the wine farms.
Ronelle is a great and very friendly host, even allowing us to switch rooms to get on in the back of the house where it is lovely quiet and quaint. Most happy to return at another time and get one of the back rooms again... Also the super close proximity to the Robertson "CBD" where all the action happens is a real bonus. You can walk to the best in-bar with dozens of beers on tap by foot...
The property is set in a beautiful location just outside Robertson. The garden is beautiful and has two pools. Our room was spacious with a lovely view overlooking the one pool. The staff is friendly and very accommodating and the breakfasts were generous and delicious. Heidi was very helpful and made sure our stay was as comfortable as possible.
What a lovely cottage. We travelled with my mom and it was perfect for 3 people. Jane and Charles were amazing hosts and we can highly recommend Klaasvoogds Cottages. We loved Jack and Daisy as well. Charles made an platter for us one evening. If you do not feel like going out, I suggest you order a delicious platter. You will not regret it.
Very nice facility that is decorated stylishly while honoring its past. The location is ideal for exploring the Robertson wine route and close to restaurants. The house is 'guarded' by Fred, the local resident Alpaca, that can be found near the front door. The owner is very responsive and helpful and a great place to stay
Lovely house and friendly hosts with a beautiful garden, very centrally situated in Robertson. The bedroom was large, and had all the basic amenities. Bathroom was sufficient. Everything very clean and well maintained. Loved the little lamps provided for load shedding.
I had just one Night but enjoyed very much. The olive farm is beautiful, the view in to the mountains spectacular and the cottages are at the top. Very nice decorated with love for the details. The equipment ist excellent. I can strongly recommend this place!
Vouchers for Four Cousins restaurant, but they closed early on the Public Holiday . Manager were very friendly and refund us cash to eat out elsewhere. We drove to Montagu as no other restaurant except Spur were open in Robertson.
Charming guesthouse in prime location in Robertson's suburbs. Easy drive to several famous wine estates like Van Loveren and Graham Beck and walking distance to cafes and restaurants. Wonderful and excellent breakfast.
