You are spoiled for choice with the quality of wineries in the district. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. Pinto butchery worth visiting before lighting the fire for you're braai! Look out for the hop on hop off wine tours.
We didn't get much chance on this trip to explore the area but it was very pleasant driving through - we saw more flowers here than elsewhere along our route. Apparently there is a bus/tractor tour of local vineyards available, but we did not have time for this on our visit.
Robertson is the hub of four small towns clustered around the Breede River. Its a pleasant centre to stay for visiting the many quality vinyards. There are some interesting additional tourist attractions - owls rest lavender farm, Marbrin olive oils, river trips and a user friendly nature reserve not far away -Vrolijheid. The first I've seen with wheelchair access and braille signs. In Robertson there are some high quality hotel/guest houses and three or four very acceptable restaurants. It's recommended!
Super small tow. The upmarket pub called The Cousins was a lovely place for meals and drinks. Robertson has many vineyards and wine tasting facilities. Another experience is the Route 62 Rafting on the river Breede... it was lovely kayaking along the river with lots of flora and different birds to see on the way. Super lunch and snacks provided also. A local taxi service was available. People in Robinso were extremely friendly. Super trees lining the streets.
We did the park run then visited Cafe Rosa for breakfast and then did a river cruise at Viljoensdrif. The next day we hiked at Vanlovering, a winery. On the following two days we did the 19km Rooikat Trail at the Vrolikheid Nature Reserve and hijed at De Galg for 4 hours.Had a wonderful meal at the Spur on the last night.
Many places of interest in close proximity - unfortunately many places were closed on Sunday and we weren't aware of this. @4 Cousin's Restaurant highly recommended for quality of food and service and lovely ambience.

Really enjoyable stay. We had the family unit which has two double bedrooms as well as a fold-out bed in the lounge. It had everything we needed - even a built-in braai in the balcony - and even though it is not marketed as self catering, was well equipped. Spotlessly clean with high quality finishes. The owners are personally involved and gracious hosts. There is a lovely walking path up the mountainside with spectacular views. Lovely breakfast included.

Incredibley beautiful location - the view across the Robertson Valley was breathtaking. The unit was extremely well-equipped and beautifully decorated. The staff were particularly welcoming and attentive. The massages were exactly what we needed after a day of traveling, and both the breakfast and braai baskets were delicious.

They had thought of everything including a complimentary mini bar, gorgeous smelling flowers in the room and the best (and nicely designed) things to do in the area guide I have ever seen. It felt very personal. The staff were great and seemed to love the hotel and their job and the food was great too.

Comfortable clean quaint place. Lovely place. "Backpackers in the title does not justify the accommodation's offering and feel, more a guesthouse. Tranquil and facilities good. Thank you

we loved the garden and views from our rooms from the balcony of Robertson mountains, Paul and Lynn our hosts made us very welcome indeed, and helped us with our braai, we had a choice of 2 areas in their garden and Paul was fantastic, as we chose the one in the secret garden in the trees,! close to wine farms and the town, but peaceful area. we were out and about, wine tasting, boat trips up the breede and home for quick drink in the local pub to watch the rugby! Lovely breakfast and home made jams, we will be back!! thank you.
