The room was always very clean, towels always dry and nicely placed on the bed. Staff was always very friendly and ready to help us. We wanted to do a day tour and they called around multiple companies till they found someone willing to bring us out given the low season and low demand. Definitely went the extra mile. Breakfast was good. Location is also very nice close to many restaurants. The highlight of the stay was the hippos in the garden of the hotel. We managed to see them 2 times while they were walking around in the garden and/or in the village over a 4 days stay!

Marlize is an amazing host that really cared that we’ll have the best time. I never met such an great host! Even before we arrived, she was helpful and responsive with questions about the drive to and from St. Lucia and provided tips for that. Upon check-in she immediately handed us maps and helped us build an itinerary. She also asked if we need help with booking activities. When she learned that we were going whale watching early in the morning she suggested that we skip breakfast before, and instead she’ll have breakfast pack waiting for us in the room’s fridge when we returned. Both evening she asked what we would like for breakfast and suggested options for us to choose. When we were in urgent need for laundry after the whale watching, she immediately came to the rescue. She was also very quick to responses. Both before and during our stay. The place itself in nice. The rooms are large. Both the regular room and the family room very quite location. Not on the busy main street, but an easy 10 minute walk that felt safe even at night.

We loved everything here! Especially the big terrace with the private swimming pool and the terrace upstairs with the comfortabele chairs. The cabin is very big with three bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a huge kitchen and living room. The beda are very comfortable and the bathrooms too. We also made use of the spa facilities which were good.

    St Lucia is a great holiday destination.

    St Lucia is a great holiday destination. Nice small village, you can walk freely at any time of the day or night. The John Dorys was fantastic. Spar and Shoprite allow you to purchase what ever you forgot at home. Traveling to Cape Vidal was epic, we saw Rhino and Hyena just passing our vehicle. Please check what time is low tide so you can better enjoy snorkeling at the reef.

    The road from Ermelo to Pongola, especially just before and after Piet Retief/Mkhondo is terrible. Rather take a longer route which ended up being quicker and safer as you didn't have to worry about the state of the road.

    St Lucia was a great destination.

    St Lucia was a great destination. Weve been going there for the past 40 years. I preferred the "Old" days. Access to the lake (Estuary) is no longer available and the town now looks dilapidated and run down. NOT what it used to be.

    St Lucia is great.....beach, safari, boat cruise, restaurants Mckenzie Street has a beautiful atmosphere during the holidays....beautiful, safe, pristine town..we just felt there was not much we could do with kids on a rainy day....

    Sandpiper Lodge guest house was great. also loved the boardwalk all the way along to the estuary. Had a couple of very nice meals at Alfredo's, a traditional family run Italian restaurant. Also had a good snack lunch at the coffee shop attached to Reef and Dune

    Our whole experience from start to finish was seamless with beautiful clean modern rooms perfect for families. Crystal clean pool to swim in. Great location! Greeted by our lovely host and given all the information about the St Lucia where to eat what to do and anything else we wanted to know. Bbq facilities and beautiful green belt behind for nature watching and an evening sundowner. We will be recommending Leopard Tree Lodge to everyone. Thank you so much we will be back!     The hotel was beautiful & the breakfast was the best. The lady at reception Bongi was very professional, friendly & welcoming. She assisted us by organizing a self catering room for us at Hippo lodge so that we prepare our meal. When we booked the hotel we were of the view that it is a self catering because when we were searching we were specific that we are looking for self catering accommodation s.
