I am currently booked for a night in Portland. I have been getting the run around trying to cancel it. I call, I am referred to web site. I go to web site and am referred to call. I call Hotel directly that directs me back to https://booking.com. Why is cancelling a reservation such a hassle?

Ive been getting the run around as well and https://booking.com has not been any help. I messaged booking on the 19 and still no reply and Im suppose to leave for my trip in the morning.

How are you able to message them? All I get on their site is pre-set questions/answers. There is no place to send message.

Clicking on your profile reveals a list where there's an option that says, "Customer Care Help Center."
Then you select the reservation you want to consult and leave a message. Someone's supposed to answer at 48 hours.

Thanks Jason, but one thing is more than usual and another is "no answer at all" by any channel (phone, web, chat, help center).
I've already done all the steps. American Airlines canceled all flights and you haven't really taken the necessary action.
It's a special situation. It is worrying that Booking has such a big business going on here, but when there are problems, don't do what needs to be done.
Allowing customers to modify or cancel the reservation from the website (in my case only allowed me to talk to the hotel, which said I had to talk to you).
I'm a booking customer over 8 years ago (I always booked with you)... but of course... There's never been an emergency. It is fortunate that I never had the need for you to assist me, because now I see that they would not have been very expedient. You'll notice I'm very angry. You'll understand.

https://Booking.com does not do anything for its customers... to book elsewhere in the future!
