Is https://Booking.com not offering free cancellation due to Coronavirus? The hotel we booked through said they would gladly cancel without fees if https://booking.com agreed.
This is my first time booking through https://booking.com. I hope I am not sorry that I did so.

I called and sent an email to the actual hotel. I sent an email with screen shots of all the airfare, vehicle rentals, and tour cancellations. One hotel in St. Paul, MN let me change the date, Las Vegas gave me a refund, but I am emailing and calling one in Page, AZ to either refund or change my date.

Update....I went to my non-refundable reservation details on https://Booking.com, scanned all the way to the bottom where there is an option to request a "Modified Cancellation penalty" where they offer the chance to explain your reason for cancellation to determine if the hotel will agree to a lower penalty. It takes at least 48 hours for a response, but maybe this will help some of you travelers. Be safe, wash your hands !

I have also notified https://Booking.com..but I have used them for 2 years now and they have always worked with me...you need to make sure you have your notifications turned on at all times but I have also called them before and spoke to them...I am sure they, like all are super busy and I pray that they will make good and allow dates to be changed..one time I reached out to the hotel,,,but because you booked through a 3rd party the hotel is not the one who will ultimately decide unless they actually close down..not sure if this helped

My date is in April so they won't let me yet ...but again in the past I have no issues with changing dates etc...but again if where you are going is not declared unsafe or shut down they do not have to legally I dont think..I am just guessing..I just know I have never had a problem with them..but I also know when you use a 3rd party you are agreeing to thier terms and conditions..and most of this is on a non refundable basis,,,and I am not saying it is best..but unless there is a shut

we reserved a condo in LA, Califonia for this weekend for a trip to Universal Studios which of course has shut down. We are traveling from Arizona, 8 hours and some from Tenn. I have tried for 1 WEEK, calling, texting, emailing with nothing but automatic responses obviously. The condo just sent us how to check in and all their rules for staying. Frustrating, over 1200.00 for a two day weekend, just asking for a refund and/or can we change dates for later? response, from booking no refunds given, or contact condo directly and condo not even reading emails keep sending here is how you check in. see you soon...........will keep trying of course. I'm 69 and don't want to travel 8 hours to sit in a condo with nothing to do and no where to go. A national emergency is in effect people

I'm in the same situation, I have paid non-refundable reserve, but considering this is a global CRISIS, they should be made more flexible. Even the airline canceled my flights. I can't believe the wear and tear we're being subjected to. I have consulted both the hotel and Booking several times and they both throw the ball... none of them solve. Hi everyone, I booked for Washington DC and since the borders between Europe and USA are banned, I messaged the hotel where I did the reservation and told me to message the Booking center for refund.
