Is anyone in Japan now or travelling in February or March? What do you think of the coronavirus?

We’ll be in Japan in a couple of weeks. I don’t think anything of it. I have a much greater chance of being struck by lightning when I step out the front door tomorrow than I have of getting the coronavirus from some random person in Japan. The U.S. has had 180,000 (hospitalised) cases of flu this winter and 10,000 deaths .... but nobody talks about that.

Obviously, use common sense. Avoid anybody who’s coughing or sneezing, wear a mask (if you can find any), wash your hands regularly, if you need to blow your nose use a tissue and discard it etc.

I'm in Japan at the moment. There are no apparent problems, it's 50/50 of people wearing face masks.
Just practice good hygiene! Sneeze or cough into tissues, wash hands.

I just arrived from Tokyo, Japan last 5 February 2020. I've been there for a week with my kids. Everything is normal there. People still go to work everyday, albeit wearing masks especially in trains, train stations, crowded places and while sightseeing. But i prefer not to wear mask. Firstly, because im not sick. Secondly, Japan has one of the freshest air in the world and i want to feel and smell it.

I'll be there in March, was worried about the virus, but Japan is such a clean country I'm not concerned too much now.
