Hi due to go to Vietnam in a few weeks. Just contacted a hotel in Sapa we have been to several times to be told most of hotels and restaurants are closed.
Why are they still being advised.

Hi. We were in Sa Pa earlier in the week (we left Tues) and there were no obvious restrictions. We've been moving around Vietnam for about 12 days. It changes on a daily basis, but we've found some tourist sights are closed, others are open but ask you to leave contact info and do a temperature check (esp. Hanoi) and hotel occupancy is well below normal. Therefore it wouldn'g be a surprise if some restaurants and hotels have closed. We stayed at the Ladybird Hotel in Sa Pa and they were very helpful.
